having a cup of coffee on the edge of the river is a must do thing. You can enjoy the weather and watching people playing rafting.

Located on a hill. However, because of tall trees, it is not possible to see the sea. Service is poor. Ask the filtered tea, otherwise you can see the tea leave parts on top..

Rize Kalesi

It's possible to easily walk from the town centre to the castle. It's a little steep in places. A taxi wouldn't be expensive it's so close.
There are nice views over Rize and the sea on the right, and on the left you can see tea plantations on the slopes. No patch of ground is unharvested wherever you go: sweet corn and tea plants are everywhere.
The Belediye have really excelled themselves with plenty of facilities for those seeking refreshments. It's very well cared for.
There is no entrance fee.

The entry is free, so you might as well have a look if you're around town. Nonetheless the museum is just a one storey little house with several old objects from the Ottoman era. Nothing tremendous

Kible Dagi Camii

Reviewed By Adem B - Bursa, Turkey

This beautiful castle is just off of the coast of KIZKALESI in the district of Erdemli to the West of Mersin in Southern Turkey. It is a most beautiful place. You can swim there (watch out for speed boats) or get a boat from the beach (we did not bother as they had put there prices up that day) but the main thing is to go to the coast and look at it. Spectacular.

Turn off the main road from Rize at the big green statue of the old man with the cooking dish. From there, keep driving... and driving... and driving... and driving. Take the opportunity to be amazed at the views of Rize's tea plantations, and the stunning scenery. We took photo's of tea being picked, being dried, being weighed, being sorted, being loaded on to trucks...
There are one or two brown signs to remind you where you're heading: they're usually just at the point where you're starting to wonder if you're lost.
The road is narrow, and the corners are insane. But - eventually - you reach the cave entrance. Entry fee is 4tl. There is a café / tea house on site, and toilets.
I'd like to tell you what the caves were like, but they were closed when we got to them. However, the bits we could see looked beautiful - and I know the history of the mining there is really interesting. To be honest, the drive - though long - was so fantastic that it really makes the experience!
