Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavor. The marvelous Sydney Opera House looks like a great origami sailboat, floating peacefully in a harbor. Wander the narrow cobblestone streets of The Rocks and then take in a street performance on the Circular Quay before heading into the Museum of Contemporary Art. The views from the Sydney Tower Eye observatory are epic – use this chance to get to know the layout of the city from high above.

Maurice Bernard Houghton was well liked in Kings Cross. Everybody knew him. He gave lots of charitable donations to King's Cross, helping the needy. This guy was a gentleman. He loved waving at people. He loved the people of King’s Cross. He tried to help those in need, always with a smile. I like that. I wish everyone would be like Bernie’s. However, he had a job, a good job: He was an US businessman with links to the US intelligence. Wow! I liked that guy!

The cross and the suburbs it is bounded by, Potts Point and Darlinghurst, is our most favourite area, of greater Sydney. The strip (Darlinghurst rd) is where it all happens, which extends from the iconic Coca Cola sign the Alamein fountain. There was a time when the strips was full of strip clubs and brothels, not so much now, just a few exist, and even less are open during these interesting time, however, the strip has evolved, and so has the people with it. During the day there is shopping, and eating to me had, at its many eateries, Bella Vita awesome and cheap, (see review), and Nung Len, a Thai flavour explosion, (see review). At night is when it comes alive, the bars fill up, the lights of the strip clubs give the place a buzz, our favourite place to visit in the evening is, LIankelly Place, (just off the strip), which has an array of eateries, that will satisfy the most discerning of palettes. The cross is definitely worth a visit.
