If you are in the Keith area and looking for a taxi to get around (as we were due to the lack of public transport) try to get Adele to get you where you need to go. We took a different driver from the train station to a distillery near by and used Adele to get back. Not only was Adele personable and easy to talk to, she had noted how long we would have until our train arrived and instead offered to drop us off and pick us up from a local restaurant knowing we hadn’t eaten for most of the day and wouldn’t be able to once we arrived where we were staying. Adele displayed genuine hospitality in everything she did and for this entire trip has been a huge part of why we want to revisit Scotland.

Strathisla Distillery Home of Chivas

The Home of Chivas is now open and ready to welcome you back to Strathisla Distillery. To keep you and our staff safe and well we are operating in a slightly different way: We will greet you at our Brand Home to take your temperature. Please bring your face mask to wear whilst inside and adhere to physical distancing. We are offering tastings for groups of maximum of 6 people for over 18 years old. Our shop will also be open - capacity is limited so a short wait in our courtyard may be required.

Went to a couple of distilleries before we hit Strathisla. Easy to reach via train, no restaurant on-site but the reception recommended a wonderful cafe not too far. We signed up for the Chivas Blending Experience tour; had Linda as our guide who very enthusiastically took us through a 2-hour tour of the distillery and tasting, answered all the questions we had with a smile, afterwards got to blend our own whisky. Excellent service and staff, wonderful experience, highly recommended, 10/10.

Auchindoun Castle

There is a small car park at the bottom of the walk and 1/4 mile walk to the castle. Manged to get a buggy down there with no problems except the last style but still got through. Castle is lovely set on top of the hill with some amazing views. Well worth the quick stop off

Wonderful experience. During this pandemic it was so refreshing to meet someone who took the situation seriously. I felt confident that it was safe to shop there. We were lucky to call in when the owner was there. He was generous with his knowledge and time and what he doesn't know about whisky isn't worth knowing. The shop is beautiful. The range is extensive and I thoroughly recommend a visit. If you can't visit, shop online.
