Sogn og Fjordane Kunstmuseum is a museum of modern and contemporary art in the region of the norwegian fjords. The collection in Førde comprises over 1000 works of visual and applied arts, ranging in date from around 1900 to today. The main focus of the collection is on regional and national art, with an emphasis on the period after 1970. The museum presents exhibitions about regional art history from around 1900 onwards, contemporary art and provides information about artists. We produce permanent exhibitions featuring art from five different collections (altogether around 4000 artworks) in the fjord region, temporary exhibitions of contemporary art and educational activities for schools. A café selling soups and cakes, and a shop selling art and books can also be found in the museum.
