Pine Acres Country Club

Situated atop the mountains of northwestern Pennsylvania, in the heart of the beautiful Allegheny National Forest, this gem of a golf course is just waiting to be discovered. This 18-hole championship course, with a 136 slope rating, will test even the most experienced golfers.

Reviewed By Mitchell R

Nice challenging course located on the boundaries of the Allegheny National forest, close to Bradford, the Allegheny Reservoir, Kinzua Dam, and Kinzua Bridge.

Course located atop the mountain range will challenge any skill level golfer. Its location is nice during summer months as being atop the hill the tempratures tend to be 10° cooler than other courses, and all the trees provide nice shade. Well maintained, and not typical of other local courses as its fairways are well lined with trees and not wide open. Prices are extremely comparable to local courses within 40 miles.

Even for opening round and before regular season opening the course was in great shape just as it left off from last season.

Well worth the taking some time to stop by and play a round when your in the area visiting

Klein Biplane Rides

Reviewed By Pa-Trekker - Pennsylvania

What a rare opportunity it is to take a ride in an open cockpit vintage biplane. The experience is truly a large step back in time to the early days of flight. My wife and I did this and it was nothing less than thrilling. The plane has only two seats, one in the back for the pilot and one in the front for the only passenger, directly behind the propeller. We flew, not so high, over the beautiful mountaintops of Pennsylvania, heavily forested, and circled over the historic Kinzua Bridge/Viaduct. The views were spectacular and the feeling of flying with the wind rushing by was exhilarating. If you are lucky you will even see wildlife on the ground, deer is common but bears are there too if you are very lucky to catch them in the open. And the pilot even allowed me to take the controls and fly the plane for a short time, like I really knew what I was doing!

Throughout the flight the pilot/owner Bruce Klein provides an informed commentary on the history and operation of the airplane and of the surrounding scenery through an intercom system. This adds greatly to the overall experience.

For anyone who seeks and enjoys adventure this ride is a MUST.

Luther's Mills Covered Bridge aka Knapp's Covered Bridge

Reviewed By robcurtross - New York City, New York

There aren't many covered bridges in this part of Pennsylvania. The Knapp's Covered Bridge is a Burr arch truss covered bridge over Brown's Creek in Burlington Township, Bradford County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

It was built in 1853 and is 95 feet (29.0 m) long. The bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and had a major restoration starting in 2000. Knapp's bridge is named for a local family, and is also known by as the Luther's Mills Covered Bridge (for the nearby village of Luther's Mills) and as the Brown's Creek Covered Bridge.

One interesting aspect is how high it is over the water -- it makes for a very interesting picture.

It is located about a mile from Route 6 and makes for and short break in driving.

Been going to quite a few movies recently. The theater has change hands and it now seems like it's for the better. I was 7 years old when our mother took us to see "A Hard Days Nite" featuring the Beatles more than 50 years ago. They may have had the same seats back then, but it was only one theater at that time. I try to go on bargain day when I can.
