We are a traditional gents outfitters founded in 1882. We stock various ranges of mens clothing as well as Kilt HireWe supply a variety of brands including Remus, Magee, Jockey, Rael Brook, Peter England, Gurteen and more.
I've bought numerous garments and hired kilts over the years and found Walter and his son to be most professional. The quality of their garments and the service that they provide is second to none. When it comes to price I've also found them to be very competitive. One of their specialities is the supply and the hiring of kilts for weddings etc, I only hope that Cov'd 19 doesn't do them too much harm.

Me and the family where up in Dumfries over the weekend and due to it absolutely bucketing down with rain we opted to go and see a film. The most local cinema in the area was the Lonsdale in Annan. Upon doing a little research online before travelling I could tell this place was a little dated and looked nothing like the big city cinemas but the reviews where good enough not to deter me and the family and we decided we wanted to go. We arrived at 1.15pm on Saturday afternoon for a showing of the lion king. The cinema is well sign posted in the town of Annan, and we found it very easily. Upon arrival, there was a large car park, probably enough room for about 30 cars (there was no parking charges). Upon entering, the cinema is very dated and very basic, no fancy slush / ice cream machines just the basics which is totally fine for me and the family. Ticket prices are around £6 for an adult and there are family tickets available which helps save a pound or 2 if you're part of a family. This cinema only has 2 screens and where both showing the same movie on Saturday. We where in Screen 2, it was a nice clean, good temperature and the seats where comfortable, the screen looked a little aged, I noticed a few lines running down the screen but soon found them non noticeable once the film started. Overall my experience was great, just goes to show you don't need to be spending a large amount on the big fancy cinemas when places like this are still doing such a good job, we are often up visiting family and will no doubt be visiting this cinema again in the near future.

The historic distillery has been through 3 whisky making eras and a period when it was used in farming. It was formerly a Johnnie Walker distillery which closed in 1918. Following an extensive £10.5 million restoration project. Annandale Distillery was reborn in 2014 with production starting on 3rd November. Once again Single Malt scotch whisky is being produced in Dumfries and Galloway after almost a 100 year absence.
We booked a distillery tour and a table for lunch well in advance of our visit with the owner who was extremely helpful. The tour was excellently run with all social distancing arrangements carefully monitored throughout. The distillery has been completely rebuilt and is great to see older and traditional methods of whisky production now back in place. Lunch was excellent - although a reduced menu from the usual owing to the Covid-19 crisis - that said everything was freshly prepared and delicious and the cafe/coffee shop a pleasure to eat in. We were also able to take our dog who loved it too. All in all an excellent visit and exceptional facilities during the current situation. Very friendly and helpful staff.
