I walked the Hellcat Boardwalk Loop for the first time back in November and fell in love with the pampas grasses then caught the sunset before heading home. There is ample parking in the lot and the whole trail is stroller and handicap accessible, with a strong, even boardwalk and plenty of benches to stop and rest. There is also an observation tower that is perfect for 360 views and photos, especially at sunset! All in all, it's a great way to stretch your legs and enjoy the day!

I have attended several events at Joppa Flats Education Center and Wildlife Sanctuary, organized by David Davis, the Poet in Residence. These events featured poets and/or photographers and/or birders who wrote poems about birds, took marvelous photos of birds, or wrote nature poems or pieces. The events were delightful and included open mic time which brought in more spontaneous readings - all great! I highly recommend any program put on at this center.

I rode my bike there, there's no bike racks unfortunately so I locked it to a street sign at the parking lot. Lots of great trails, some through the woods, some along the river, and some through remnants of gardens and past old building foundations. Beautiful and peaceful, it wasn't crowded at all on a Tuesday evening at sunset. I ran about 4 miles of trail and didn't cover it all, will definitely return!

Great trail for an easy scenic walk. The path was was cleared of snow with a only a few puddles. We had a beautiful sunny day for our walk, there were many other people out enjoying the trail as well.

After exploring Newburyport's many fun shops and lunching at Grog's restaurant, we wandered down to the Merrimack River and stumbled onto the Waterfront Park. There were plenty of benches to choose from, and we found it ideal for relaxing before more shopping. It's also close to the Maritime Museum which is definitely worth a look.

Having grown up in this area I'm always drawn back to the beaches and restaurants. Plum island is one of my favorite places more so than Salisbury beach or Hampton beach only because we have no small children and as such Plum island appeals to us more.The restaurants and shops are a bit more upscale and trendy than the other beaches in the area.There is a small playground and bathrooms which are unfortunately only open seasonally but the majority of gas stations don't have a customer only policy. The beaches,even in the off season are bustling with people walking dogs,chipping golf balls and flying kites.
