We spent our New Years family holiday in Baqueira and went straight to Skicenter to book instructors for the whole family as we had a positive previous experience in Sierra Nevada. The instructors are simply fantastic, my 7 year old boy improved dramatically and my 10 year old girl got the confidence to ride the most challenging slopes with dad. Service at the office was excellent, very flexible with booking times and they got us English speaking instructors. I’m the only one snowboarding in the family and decided to take a few classes to improve technique and going off-piste. Antonio took me on some awesome rides with fresh powder and I feel I improved my riding significantly. Rodri and the girls at the office are super nice and they gave us discount for booking successive lessons. Thank you team Skicenter Baqueira, you made our holiday a complete success!

Cota 1700 is an Skicenter located in Baqueira-Beret. We provide ski and snowboard equipments for rent, and ski lessons for all ages and levels in Baqueira-Beret. In our shop you'll find the latest in ski and snowboard, and accesories.
My hotel was close-by so was recommended this shop by the hotel reception and no wonder, this is an excellent ski shop. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when I turned up the night before my first day skiing to hire my equipment. The equipment was good and the staff were more than happy to change things around to make sure I had what equipment I wanted. Another really great thing, was that I could leave my skis and boots right there in the shop when I'd finished for the day, then collect them again in the morning at before heading to the slopes. The hotel had a shuttle service to the lift, but I never actually used it as it was even easier to just leave my stuff at the shop and stretch the tired legs with a 100 metre walk down the hill. Cafe and ski pass shop right next door and ski lift 15 metres away from Cota1700's door . . what more could you want?

The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,471 and 2,510 m. The Baqueira Beret ski resort is one of the most well-known in Spain. It is also one of the largest and best ski resorts in the Pyrenees. It stretches across Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua. The slopes at Bequeira Beret are mainly accessed with modern chairlifts. Due to the snow-reliable location, the ski season usually begins in November and goes until the end of April. Ski holiday accommodations are found in the village of Baqueira.
A fabulous ski resort with something for all levels. Beret is our favourite! Great wide slopes for beginners, plenty of blues and reds for more experienced skiers. Friendly staff and minimal queues.

I had to rent skis for work, as mine had been stolen out of our storage one day before I was to start working. If you are a skier, then you know that there is nothing like your very own pair of skis, the ones that you know so well that you do not have to think about weight distribution, camber-rocker-camber, radius, delta and the like. Well, if you are a skier, you might also know that there is a HUGE difference between your own personal skis and the ones you SHOULD use for work (teaching, guiding, what have you). I am not exactly sure where my brain was when I rented the first pair (for work, mind you), I must have left it behind in my flat. Long story short, pride, arrogance and I guess hubris got the better of me and I ended up leaving Procenter with a pair of Völkl RaceTigers - yes, I know: WHAT was I thinking????? Long story even shorter, the next day clearly showed me that I had not been thinking at all. It is NO PLEASURE to ski with skis on a powder day that you are A) not used to, that are B) the wrong kind for the snow conditions and C) the result of an attack of hubris. I shall spare you the details, suffice to say it was humiliating, painful and extremely hard work. However, all home-cooking. So after the first day of work (YEAH, a great impression on my boss!!!), I slunk back to Procenter and confessed, thinking that I might get a sneer and a smile full of pity. However, Mercé and her staff went out of their way to advise me on what would be best for work, my skill, my preferences, the snow conditions and all other factors that I had not considered the day before. I now have not just a great pair of skis to work with, but also a store that is willing to tell me: "Eh, no, you do NOT want a racing ski when working. Get over yourself!" I cherish and appreciate honest criticism above all else, and if it is delivered in such a nice manner, I am sold for life! THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!
