We offer a fun informative cruise in an open boat along the windmills of the Zaanse Schans with a maximum of 12 people. We take enough time to photograph the mills and the environment. The skipper tells you all the information about the windmills.

The shopping area in Zaandam offers everything for a day of great shopping. Since a few years the city centre has transformed into an interesting architectural area. The traditional houses are mixed up with modern day aspects. When arriving by train, the first thing you see is the world famous Inntel Hotel. Next to it is the city's town hall. From here you walk straight into the shopping area!
A scenic view of a row of huge windmills and beutiful Dutch building is a real treat. Picturesque from far and from near. It is a spectacular structure and engineering which is still operational and working. A true Dutch heritage and beauty. Glad we made it to this magnificient sight seeing.

The tour of windmill farm was booked by our tour agency, we were on a visit to Amsterdam during our honeymoon. Luckily we had got a break from the rains and wind...and we could roam around the farm freely. There are 5 major windmills which are working. One of them is free and the others charge for entry. You also have a wooden shoe making factory which has a live demo and an exhibit of various types of wooden shoes. You also can buy them if you like ! There is also a cheese factory which has various kinds of gauda cheese available for sale. A demo is also shown on the cheese making process. Apart from cheese, you also can buy organic mayo, honey etc... The farm is also a beautiful place to take pictures and enjoy with your loved ones. I would recommend to set aside 2 to 3 hours for the visit.

What an experience to travel to Zaans schans! It took nearly 2 1/2 hours but we enjoyed every minute of it. We had a unexpected 45min stop at Zaandam due to water level difference. We had a private ‘Tour guide’ from the captain owner’s friend around Zaandam, discovered the history of Zaandam and the Russian Tsar Peter I and his unique residence. Definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to experience the unique sight of Netherlands waters (cost 10euro per journey , 15 return). I will also recommend this for family with young children The internet site can be more informative of where exactly the meeting point is. We struggled to find the dock. It is situated just behind the main station. Walked passed the underground of the station.
