We visited this shrine while on a cruise ship excursion from Toba. It is not very far from the port, and definitely worth visiting. Our five-hour excursion from Toba included the Grand Shrine and Okage Yokocho shopping area at Ise, the Futami Okitama shrine, Meotoiwa, and Pearl Island at Toba. This is a very spiritually meaningful and interesting place.

I can play! Saw it! Contact aquarium. You can touch a big body, touches a fang or a beard and take a commemorative photo with you at walking time on the walrus. I'm going to be a cute creature's trick! Handshake with Tsumekashi otter is also popular. You can also purchase souvenirs unique to Sea Paradise at Ise Musouiwa Shopping Plaza. Since various events are held, we recommend that you go after checking the time.

Temporarily Closed We are pleased to announce that the SENGUKAN museum, which is the memorial repository of the Shikinen Sengu ritual (periodical renewal) of the Ise Jingu shrine, will reopen on November 7 (Thursday), 2019 (Reiwa 1). Due to the severe flood damage caused by typhoon no. 21 which struck this area in 2017, the museum has been forced to remain closed for a long time. After the two years of restoration work, we will start again, adding some fresh exhibits to our repertoire. We truly appreciate your patience despite this long inconvenience. The SENGUKAN museum will express the “spirit of Japan,” which the Shikinen Sengu ritual has continuously epitomized, just as we did before the closure. Currently, the preparation for the reopening in November is underway. This website provides a wide variety of online experiences, such as stunning videos and photos of the museum’s priceless exhibits. Please visit the website from the following banner and explore the fascinating world of the sacred shrine. If you are more curious about the Ise Jingu shrine and its tradition, we also recommend to visit Jingu Chokokan Museum, where you can learn about the history of Ise Jingu and appreciate a collection of the Onshozoku-shinpo (the sacred adornments and treasures dedicated to the deities) that had been offered to the deities in the past.

This shrine is the smaller one, situated not far from the town center. It is great to stroll around, and enjoy the atmosphere of greenery and mystery that floats around. You can end up in little trails in the forest, and really feel the nature around you. I visited this shrine before the bigger one the next day, and it's a good thing I did. It's like going to a different scale.
