Went to this sushirestaurant and were amazed. Small, typical japanese restaurant with different kinds of sushi and maki. Established in 1950 it has a long tradition in sushi making. We felt welcomed, ate the best salmon of our lives! Highly recommended!
Situated not far from Yudanaka Train Station on the main road, we discovered this as nothing else was open at 6 pm. Walking in there were only 3 tables that I could see. We were greeted very nicely, seated on traditional Japanese floor with a hole in the floor for our legs which was very comfortable. They spoke English & had a English menu too. This is basically a Nigiri & Sashimi menu with a few other options which we didn't understand. They did make us some Salmon & Cucumber rolls specially for us too. I have to say though the Nigiri was fresh, tasty & we kept ordering more. I tried the local beer which was surprisingly good considering I don't drink beer at all. Jin Sushi was clean, good value for money & I would definitely recommend it. We had a great night here
You can enjoy local beef steak and sukiyaki, soba noodle, rice kamameshi, there are various other Japanese foods. You can also taste Japanese sake.
If you plan to visit the Snow Monkey Park, Hotaru-tei is a great choice for lunch. The restaurant is located between the walk route to the park entrance from the bus stop. It is about a 3 mins walk from the bus stop. This is the bus stop for the bus to/from Nagano station. Lovely architecture, nice spacious interior with a modern reception area. The food is good. Lunch set is ¥2,800~ . I had a slow lunch and comfortably timed my departure back to Nagano.

Delicious made to order sushi with beautifully fresh ingredients. Approx A $60 for 2 share plates of sushi and sashimi, miso soup, 2 soft drinks and a large bottle of Asahi. Complementary ice cream wafers for the kids and fresh apple slices to finish. Run by a delightful couple who make you feel so welcome. Highly recommended.

My husband and I dined here 7 April on recommendation from our hosts at Shimaya. We were the only ones in the restaurant that evening and the owners made us feel so welcome and the sushi, tempura and ogedashi tofu was just incredible! So fresh. We even watched an interesting TV show with the hosts which was lovely. Would highly recommend.

Enza Cafe is situated close to the famous Snow Monkey Park, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy delicious local food, drinks and home-made desserts while surrounded by the beautiful sights of Nagano prefecture's mountains and trees.
We stopped here for coffee, tea and a bathroom break during our visits to the snow monkey park. On the second day, they were super nice to call a taxi for us to take us to the Yudanaka station.
