It is not the easiest place to find, but this small sushi place rewarded us with an unforgettable Sushi experience. The chef explained in detail every single portion and making a real effort in English as well. The ingredients were fresh and the culinary experience sublime.

Gonpachi Shibuya, located just 8 minutes from JR Shibuya station and Keio Shibuya Station, and 5 minutes from Shinsen Station, offers a spectacular view of the Tokyo skyline as well as our ever-popular fresh soba noodles. Open until 2 am, Gonpachi Shibuya
Frequented by locals and some tourists. Appetizers were excellent, sushi rolls delicious. Sake hit the spot. Service was very good. Reasonable prices. After dinner we walked to Shibuya station to see the scramble at that huge intersection. Great fun after a wonderful meal.

Stumbled upon this place while walking around shibuya. There was a line outside so we figured this might be a good place to eat. Weâve been standing outside for 30 minutes until some locals walked in and grabbed a sign in sheet. Then one of the waiters came out and asked us for our names and number of guests. So we had to wait again for 40 minutes because the locals were seated first. Please note that most of the restaurants weâve been to in japan donât have sign in sheets- you basically have to wait in line. Anyway, once we sat down, I ordered some salmon for 225 yen - I thought thereâs two of them as shown in the picture but there was only one. It was really good so I ended up getting 4 more. I also love their wasabi - unlike here in the US, their wasabi wasnât strong. Overall, I do recommend this place just make sure you put your name in the sign in sheet. Please note that I was told this place is expensive because some sushi places in Japan only cost 200 yen and you get two pieces.

The sushi train here is more like an automated Shinkansen bullet train. You are seated and numbered seating and order from touch screens which have English option. Most sushi was 100yen for two pieces. Some things like my highly recommended panko crumbed oysters were a little more (220). Great affordable fun for the whole family.

This sushi is as amazing as the crossing itself. Recommended by my boyfriend as THE place to eat sushi while in Japan. I went at the begging of January, and the waiting time was about 15 minutes. Some people complain because you canât rest your feet inside (cause itâs a standing sushi bar), but believe me, youâll forget this when you taste the food. We ordered some sushi combos (nigiri), which are easy to ask for and contain different types, so you are able to try lots of flavors without dealing with the order. Canât remember the exact price, but it was fair. The fish was super fresh and great quality. You have to mention if you donât like wasabi, cause itâs kind of strong, but in my opinion, itâs definitely worth trying. Also, just for ordering they bring you miso (perfect if itâs cold outside) and unlimited hot matcha, I donât think life gets any better than that. The crew is kind and the atmosphere is truly unique, customers were both, locals and tourists. Went here twice in that week and looking forward my third visit next time in Japan.

Like many restaurants/addresses in Tokyo, this is not the easiest of places to find -- but it is definitely worth seeking out. Thankfully, the "ticket machine" has English subtitles, as does the a la carte menu -- though one is definitely "on their own" when ordering a "sushi set." Rest assured, however, the fish is fresh and the cost is reasonable.

Located on the 8th floor of a shopping center/building, this restaurant is very popular. You sit on chairs outside but it's worth the wait. Simply come here and enjoy it. Be sure to order something special off the at-table screen/menu, and wait for the train to deliver it to your table. Oh, and the food...is excellent and fresh!

Talk about quick. An iPad takes your order and then you get you food. Sushi quality is OK. Not the best but canât beat the price. The majority of the clientele are either foreigners or younger adults who probably can not afford the better sushi. Lines can build up after 6:30 so best to go early. We had no wait to get in but by the time we left there were at least 30 people waiting.
