We came here hoping to get something to eat, and that's it. Our expectations were low, because some local restaurants provide inexpensive meals by using low-quality ingredients. Not here; the food was inexpensive but it was also very good. We were delightfully surprised. The food was also plentiful, so you won't go away hungry here.

The hotel itself is so nice but this restaurant....we had some soup "green chile stew", utterly flavorless broth, not even salt or pepper. We had the veggie pasta, a chef's afterthought in a half hearted attempt to cater to those who might choose a plant based diet. Tasteless pasts with sautéed veggie, some capers, kalamata olives tossed with olive oil, lemon. Ugg. At least use a pricey, lovely olive oil! Again, whats with the no seasoning? I had the flan, which was not lusciously creamy smooth but lumpy and chunky. Um...pass. This was an expensive and just plain crappy couple of meals.

We stop by the Borracho on a Sunday afternoon after walking around the Plaza and finding everything closed. What an awesome find! Bobby, the mixologist, prepared us a couple of local created cocktails which could withstand any high dollar drink from New York City! Totally and highly recommend the Borracho in Las Vegas, NM.Thank you so much! I am so glad that you enjoyed our bar, drinks, and mixologist, Bobby! We pride ourselves on craft cocktails and we will happily serve you again if we're lucky enough for a revisit.

I hopped in here after a hike up Hermits Peak, choosing the restaurant based on TripAdvisor reviews! Was NOT disappointed!Super simple place - gravel parking, waitstaff in t-shirts, one-holer potty, etc. Good food at a good value served up fast! The locals pack this place for good reason! If visiting from out of the area, donât be intimidated or feel awkward for being an out of towner...these folks welcomed me with open arms.

This restaurant is located in Las Vegas, New Mexico. It serves Spanish American and American cuisine.
At Smiling Faces you'll get great southwestern, Mexican, and American dishes; reasonable prices; and friendly service. But on the quiet night we were there service was quite slow and inattentive, so be prepared for that possibility. Still, the Navajo Taco I had (shredded beef, mild green chili, freshly made fry bread) was so exceptional that I'd go back in a heartbeat. If you find yourself in Las Vegas, New Mexico looking for a place to eat, this is a great choice.

Of all the smart things Plaza Hotel owner Allan Affeldt has done to revive the Harvey House tradition in Las Vegas, maybe the smartest was inviting the folks who run Albuquerque/Bernalillo's best roadside eateries to open up a new branch off the hotel's main lobby. The menu here is more limited than the Range Cafe usual, but the cooking is equally good and the dishes immensely satisfying. We devoured the creamy, tangy elote appetizer, a tantalizing mix of corn and cotija cheese seasoned with a touch of lemon. As a connoisseur of hot chile, the relleno plate did not disappoint -- the chiles themselves were mucho picante but also mucho sabroso. Service was friendly and efficient. Great to have the Range up north in New Mexico.

Globs of yellow American cheese in a tortilla covered with bland red sauce. Inedible. No veggies, no style, rushed job.....cheese was not even hot inside. Indifferent service. New Mexico is full of outstanding restaurants with regional dishes. This one is generic with minimal attention to detail.
