ate at peers several times while staying in hopkins. The food was delicious with generous portions and very reasonable prices. I loved that the front of the restaruant was covered in beach glass! The owners were so friendly with us, both have a wonderful dry sense of humor...loved it. Hope to go back again one day!
Everything is made from scratch. Fresh baked buns, fresh caught fish, fantastic wings, burgers, seafood, etc. Every Wed we have live drumming.
We ate here a couple times and you can always get a good meal here. If you want some local food try Sher's. You won't be disappointed. Very reasonable prices too.
We have traditional Belizan cuisine plus Mexican and American cuisine. We don't serve any alcoholic beverages but you can bring your own if you please. If there is something you would like and it not on the menu please ask and we can prepare it for you. Y
Great local belizean food. Get the stuffed fryjacks for breakfast and you wont regret it. They give you large portions, and the food comes out quick, and tasty. Its very inexpensive when compared to the large restaurants in the area, but still slightly more than the little local roadside cabin/cart places, but definitely not bad. And sadly, the village is getting a lot more big expensive restaurants catering to tourists, and is losing the local flavor. Especially when it comes to the food thats more spanish style from the north of Belize. This is one of the only places to get those things (escabeche, orange walk tacos, etc).

Great place to grab a meal in Hopkins. Friendly service. Kesha was very attentive to our needs. Food was good. Wanted a homemade coconut pie but you have to order them in advance. Maybe next time. Nice out door seating to see the local life in action.(Dominos)Even was able to see one of the college football bowl games while eating. Highly recommend the stewed chicken. Tender and flavorful!

Mostly a locals restaurant, and off the beaten path. Well worth searching out. We ate there 2 times in 1 week. Great local home made food.
The food here is wonderful, the atmosphere awesome...the sand fleas relentless..don't let this stop you from going there.. The food is worth it. Get food to go at night Orr go early. It's worth it

my husband and I stopped in here to ride out the rain storm. I was looking forward to my experience based on other reviews. Unfortunately, it was nothing like the pleasant experience that many of them had.Upon arrival the restaurant was not yet quite open for business. I understand that, and have patience. We had a beer sat at a table and waited. The owner, or manager not sure who talk to us about having a snack. We discussed chicken wings, or grilled shrimp. We decided to order the grilled shrimp. Silly me and it's stupid tourist mistake I did not ask how many, or how much. A bit later, our food arrived. I was surprised to see that we both were served a plate of very, very, very small shrimp served with potatoes and a small salad. Almost like an entree. Okay, there was another opportunity for me to say hey? What is this? We ordered an appetizer. But again stupid American Tourist mistake I accepted the food. It was not grilled shrimp, it was not an appetizer, and it was not very good either. When are bill came we were charged $15 / plate. Nothing we could do that at that point because we had already eaten the food. Lesson learned and move forward. But did not have a good experience on any level. We apologize for your Experience. The price of shrimp on the local market has doubled and so has the quality. We are sourcing other supply networks and we will improve on that. Please come back for a free meal... Again this is not reflective of our normal standard.

Queen Bean is one of those traditional places you do not want to miss: cool beers with some Belizean music, some nice fresh fish to choose for dinner. Great place to chill out and have a great meal!!

Local family-owned restaurant specializing in fresh caught seafood and freshly prepared dishes. On the beach with cool breeze and friendly staff.
This is a very small local restaurant located right on the beach and just steps away from the ocean. There were three tables inside and several picnic tables outside. We choose to eat inside because of the wind and looming rain. 'Inside" is pretty much a screened in sandy area with a small bar (I think there might have been two bar stools). Service was provided by a young local girl who was very friendly and attentive. Most important is the food was AMAZING. I ordered the shrimp in coconut milk and my husband ordered the stuffed shrimp with stuffed potato. Both meals were very different but equally great. Here's what you need to know if your fussy about where you eat. When we arrived we were greeted by two large dogs that jumped on us. We ignored them and they immediately left us alone. At one point a toddler climbed onto the top of the table next to us and the young girl serving us quickly snatched her off the table and handed her off to a young boy who quickly took the toddler outside. Eventually the toddler made her way back into the restaurant and over to our table. A young dog wondered through while we were eating. Again we ignored the dog and it left us alone. If you want to have an authentic Hopkins Belize experience Maxim's is a MUST.
