We visited this agritourism restaurant on the recommendation of the friend who is a local. It was a bit hard to find (we passed by it 2 items until on the 3rd time we spotted the sign leading to this tiny street with not enough parking space). The parking is a problem, as you have to find the space in the main street. The terrace was nice, so I imagine it is quite comfortable in the summer. Indoor seating area lacks atmosphere. Food is average, really. Nice thing was the pumpkin bread - other types of bread are also quite good, as they are home-made. As antipasto, we opted for the large plate of mixed salami, and pickled veggies, accompanied with a glass of Terrano (red wine) - and that was excellent. Then we had pasta: pumpkin gnocchi with butter and sage (gnocchi di zucca con burro e salvia), bread gnocchi with mushrooms, and lasagne. The first one was interesting, and decisively the best of all three. Other ones were just... average, plain, really. Then, main dish: mixed plate of grilled meat, with patate in tecia and sauerkraut - less than average. Dessert: we chose tiramisu and yogurt cream cup. Not bad, both of them. They have their own vine, and although we tried the their Chardonnay, it was somehow too sour and it didn't accompany the pasta dishes very well - while the red wine Terrano was of very good quality. The service was slow (the restaurant was full, and I noticed that mainly jota and patate in tecia were ordered, rarely something else), but friendly. The price was average for this area (3 of us and 60 ⬠total), but I don't think I will be visiting them again. The local, rustic, countryside taste of the food and atmosphere was just... missing.

In the central square of this quaint village, under a beautiful pergola you can enjoy in the summer, you can eat al fresco and enjoy local specialties. The menu will be a typical Slovenian / Italian choice from the Karst region: it will be meat and red wine, but every choice is delicious. It may not be summery, but still very enjoyable on a summer evening. Try the local red wines, Refosco or Terrano, as you won't find them elsewhere.

We came here following a friend's recommendation. We live in the area, but we had told him that we usually drive to Rimini (La Tiresia), if we really want to have "the perfect meat". He said: "Try Sardoc and then you decide if you still need to drive to Rimini."Ok. We arrived for dinner with no reservation and had to find out that they were preparing for a reception with more than 100 people. No reservation, 100 people ... I was almost already on my way back to the car, but the friendly waitress asked us: '"Do you mind if you may have to wait a little longer for your dishes than usual?" - Of course, we didn't mind. It turned out that they treated us like Queens/Kings, although they had to handle the function in parallel. At the end of the evening, we almost felt like family members. Now about the food: We had local soup, pasta and salad. All fresh, delicious and generous. Then the meat. ...The best Fiorentrina I have ever had in my life! Period.Accompanied by a wonderful house red, and all at absolutely reasonable prices. We had the pleasure/honor to see the service team pleasing the 100+ guests almost in front of us. No one was ever left alone or not being served on time. We, as guests with no reservation, were never left out of the service chain. The owner, Mr. Sardoc, and his wife, even personally checked if we had been happy with the dishes, especially the meat.We do not like stiff Michelin-Star-atmosphere. We love top quality down-to-earth food. Therefore, we are very happy we (or better our friend Luigi Candida of Portopiccolo) found this restaurant: We will have to drive to Rimini less, and we will come back here very soon. It is a "Carso-style"-restaurant, a little bit in the mountains. But if you like this kind of appearance, you can't be wrong. I seldom use the word "amazing". Here, from the bottom of my heart, I say: Amazing!

Perfect place for an abundant, inexpensive, relaxing, friendly and taste-tickling degustation! Usually open Friday through Sunday through certain periods of the year, so perhaps better to call beforehand. For those unsure what to expect from an Osmiza in general and this one in particular, you basically come when you come - booking beforehand is possible though not usually necessary - and order either Teran (red wine), Tokai or Malvasia (whites), then there's a list of say 3 or 4 types of cold cuts - here you also get chunky, super fatty bacon, which is, I swear, something that will take you back to the first time you ate bacon, its that delicious; then there's the cheese, which they make, usually fresh/soft plus mature with intense flavour here. Sidonj is probably my favourite Osmiza on Carso so don't expect all of them to be this good!

worth going if you like the typical local food. Good variety of food and wine, always fresh and not too havy. Service is quick but could improve a bit(some more smiles might help). During the nice season there is a nice terrace and not to forget it's easy parking.Recomend it

This small restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in Malchina, and I am glad I took the advice. I've eaten here twice, on 2 separate visits to the Trieste area, and the food and the people have been fantastic. Lots of local specialities, both Italian and Slovene, since Malchina is very close to the border. The menu is different each day, representing the best and the freshest ingredients the owners can find. Leave room for dessert!
