A part of American history and local folklore meet at Singer Castle on Dark Island, located on the St. Lawrence River. Singer Castle is the only remaining/existing castle on our river to be completed, fully furnished and lived in during the heyday of the great builders and industrialists in New York. The castle is open for tours from mid-May - early October. It is also available for overnight stays in the Royal Suite and weddings and special events.
For a unique once in a lifetime experience never to be forgotten, this is it!! After a fabulous tour and dinner, you return to the royal suite to grab your flashlight and explore the entire castle in the dark. Fun. Unique. And all in a beautiful island in the middle of the St Lawrence River.

Had a great time even though it was misting the entire time there watching these ocean going ships fill up the lock from end to end and side to side and get raised or lowered 40 some feet in a matter of minutes. Also a great video in the visitors center on the construction. Actually visited in July of 2017 on a 50th anniversary trip.

The drive over this bridge made the trip more interesting! The bridge has one lane each way and a steel deck, which acts to prevent driving fast. The view was awesome!!
