"THE DOOR OF THE SUN" is the name of the Megalith near Buzovgrad village, Kazanlak municipality. It is known as the Bulgarian Stonehenge and represents an ancient Thracian observatory. There is a window in the rocks 1.80 m high, in which falls the sun at sunset during the Megalith Festival. The view from the rocks at Valley of Roses and Thracian Kings along the Tunja river is exceptional!

This tomb dates back to V century B.C. There were found very interesting and valuable artefacts like the bronze head of Seuthes III, a gold wreath, other gold objects, armors of a warrior and many more. You can see all of them in the History Museum of Kazanlak. This tomb differs from the others with its bigger chamber, much longer dromos, the passage to the chamber which is considered to be used by the soul of the passed away to move to the other world, and the carved images of Medusa and Helios Gods on the doors. The tomb is part of a large royal Thracian necropolis in the Valley of the Thracian Rulers. The monument dates back to the 4th century BCE and has been on the UNESCO protected World Heritage Site list since 1979!! The most amazing, beautiful and old painting!!
