Discover Restaurants offering the best Seafood food in Vicksburg, Mississippi, United States. Sitting high atop a bluff overlooking the Mississippi and Yazoo Rivers, the city of Vicksburg was the setting of a bloody 47 day siege during the Civil War. The site of this epic battle is now Vicksburg National Military Park, preserving original fortifications and the U.S.S. Cairo, an ironclad gunboat that once prowled the waters of the Mississippi River. Vicksburg is also the place where Coca-Cola was first bottled, a fact that is happily immortalized at the Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum.

This has really deteriorated in the changes of management over the years. Had fried seafood platter. All cooked in same grease and bad. Fish Texture was like no catfish I have ever eaten. The shrimp & oysters were not as bad but we're not good. Won't be back.
first time i left a buffet hungry. Everything was dried out or over cooked. Tried 3 different plates of food trying to find something edible and couldn't. Totally unacceptable. It was 7 pm on a monday night. an off night before thanksgiving, but time was perfect for dinner. stuff should have been fresher. every thing seemed like it had been there since the previous night.
Stopped here 1 hour before they closed. Ordered 2 different menues. Both turned out to be very good. - People working here were super friendly, especially given the fact that most of them work 2 jobs (as we found out chatting to them). Prices in this town seem to be step. So it came to my surprise that you still find dinner options for under 10 USD. Would go again for sure.
First-ever visit to this chain. The pan-fried fish was delicious, as were the hushpuppies. That is all we tried, as we had already purchased some carry-out chicken before stopping in. But on my next visit to the South, I'll be looking for this chain again!

We stopped by today, it's a small place sorta out of the way, tucked into a neighborhood, but we did find it and went in for a late lunch. They offer BBQ, traditional hamburgers and southern cooking. I hate to sound ignorant but maybe it's cajun? We're not from here. Anyway we all decided to try the "shrimp ettouffee" and it was some of the best food I've had in awhile. It's like a cream bisque or stew with shrimp and crawfish and it does have a spicy kick. They top it with rice and you sort eat it all together. Wow. The flavors were five-star! We all ate everything, including the side order of hush puppies which were crisp and light, not heavy and greasy. They serve plastic silverware, and it's not fancy inside (they also have a considerable amount of outdoor seating), but the food is well worth a stop while in Vicksburg.
We had six people for lunch, were seated promptly and got our food quickly once it was ordered. Most of us got the catfish. Portions were large (about six catfish strips per order) and very good. French fries were crinkle fries and werenât very crispy. I heard the crawfish étouffée was good. Thank you so much for the positive review, hope to see you again real soon.

This is a gem nestled in a strip mall just off Halls Ferry Road. My wife and I were the only non-locals in the restaurant. Business people, single women, construction workers, police, and fishermen. Everyone seems to like it.My wife had grilled oyster PoBoy and I had fried oyster PoBoy. We both shared what had to be one of the best Gumbos we have ever had.

Beechwood Restaurant & Lounge in Vicksburg, Mississippi, has earned a reputation as one of the state's top 10 eateries for steaks and burgers. And they've been doing it since 1956. Located at 4451 Clay Street, at the intersection of Highways 27 and 80, Beechwood is an old-fashioned steakhouse that emphasizes southern recipes and a menu of mouth-watering martinis. Add a full bar and live entertainment and you understand why Beechwood is of popular dinner destination. My wife and I started by sharing a grilled chicken Caesar salad. For an entree, she chose the Beechwood Classic, a six-ounce filet mignon with shrimp, baked potato, hot rolls and butter. I passed up the 12-ounce filet mignon with single-loaded potato, sour cream, green onion, bacon bits, cheese and creamed spinach in favor of the shrimp lovers plate, which includes four jumbo fried shrimp, four jumbo Cajun grilled shrimp, four jumbo shrimp scampi, baked potato and steam broccoli. Yes, I love shrimp. Since I was a kid, almost 70 years ago. For dessert, we shared a large slice of pecan pie. Beechwood has been in business for 63 years. It's easy to see why.

I had no idea what to expect, but the recommendations were right! Rusty's has great food. Surprisingly great seafood salads and local favorites. The fried green tomatoes were perfect and the fried soft shell crab was done just right. The same for the rest of our meals. Service was attentive, friendly and prompt. It was worth the detour from I-20.
