I visited recently with my family, the staff is really friendly and helpful when it comes to choosing the food -as I'm vegetarian, the serving lady proposed a few out of menu alternatives. Really reasonable prices considered the food quality.

At the foot of the Castle, the restaurant La Tavernetta offers a highly-selected cuisine of exquisitely meat and fish dishes. The hundred places in the restaurant are distributed in three rooms.
My husband and I were staying nearby at the Russiz Superiore vineyard B&B, so we decided to try this restaurant. The ambience is wonderful with a wood burning fireplace and beautiful stone walls in a very unique building. We were offered a little proseco as we first sat down and then were brought some proscuitto of deer dressed with berries and a little salad. It was a nice touch. We ordered a bottle of Lis Neris Cabernet Sauvignon (2010), but were brought a 2011 which we did not catch until after it was served as we were not shown the bottle. My biggest complaint is that they used the same type of wine glasses as they did for the proseco and it took away from the enjoyment of the wine. We noticed other diners had the right red wine glasses for their wine, so we know it was not that they did not know which glasses to use. Other than that, the meal was outstanding. We started with the pumpkin ravioli served with shaved tartufo which were delicious. I had the duck which was sliced thinly and served with what I think was lightly sauted apricots and a baked cauliflower dish that was wonderful. My husband had the rack of lamb which absolutely melted in your mouth. The chef is excellent and knows just how to pair the flavors. The wait staff was friendly, yet did not check on us at any time during the meal. Other than not having what was a lovely red wine in the right glasses, the meal was truly outstanding.

a bit out of the way, but would be worth going any distance - though you need to be a fish & seafood lover to appreciate Le Dune. No, it isn't cheap - but the owner and chef somehow combines the freshest ingredients in a concerto furioso of tastes; gamberi rossi from Sardinia and scampi from Istria; raw of course; then a cubed (raw again!) dover sole, a Branzino soup, a carpaccio of Ricciola (Yellowtail) followed by thick slices of the best tuna sashimi I've had for years; then scampi from Istria, lightly grilled on a bed of warm Zucchini, spaghetti with ricci ... there was more, 9 or 10 courses altogether, one better than the other. superb, just superb.

Little restaurant with only fish menù.
From outside we would not have entered as we passed by the previous day and it was empty. But we where recommended and therefor we went. There we learned that the restaurant is in the first floor and it is crowded. They server excellent fish and seafood, The service is very friedly and the patron helps with language as the menue is in Italian only. We enjoyed it very much.

Elliot is an authentic Boutique Hotel, located in an enchanting landscape. Located in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli near Manzano, nestled among the lush green hills, surrounded by fine vineyards, there has been a refined restaurant for gourm
The Hotel Elliott in the city of Manzano offers, next to the restaurant inside the hotel itself, a simpler restaurant (a Trattoria, or Locanda, in the Italian definition) which is located next door, in the same complex of buildings.A local apparently unpretentious, but serving to the visitors a typical Friuli cuisine menu, in addition to a selection of highly respected wines.A very helpful service helps in the identification of the most appropriate food on the palate of the tourists, while the serenity of the atmosphere (the property stays on a hill overlooking the Friuli countryside and the vineyards that cover it, monopolizing almost the entire crop) creates the best conditions for a simple meal but with an excellent content. We especially enjoyed a beef fillet tartare and a wonderfully delicious lasagna, all dishes accompanied by a yellow Ribolla sparkling wine that surprised us. Unhappily the weather was to hot and not the most suitable for a more complete meal, with the variety of dishes we wanted from the menu it the few more glasses of wine we would want to drink before leaving.Account more than acceptable. For those wishing to escape from the usual recommended paths I think this place can be a good solution. I suggest to try it, visiting the region.

We arrived in the middle afternoon...hungry. Where to eat in Italy that closes for siestas...This small restaurant with 2 friendly ladies welcomed us very warmly and served nices dishes to be shared between all of us. The tables are very elegantly settled with tablecloths and decoration. A nice surprise!

In the heart of Collio, the restaurant is located in a building dating from 1700, with typical Cormonese architectonical structure. It has a delightful terrace-garden. The cuisine is inspired by Central European cooking and of high quality. Wide wine choi
We were a party of six, and we tried a couple of different dishes. For the starter we took prosciutto San Daniele and tonno battuto. Both delicious. Then we took orzotto and blecks with San Daniele & funghi porcini. Blecks were fantastic, much more favorable than orzotto. The best dish of the dinner in my opinion. As main we took ravioli and veal. The filling in the raviloi was tasteful a bit too dry. If it was for my taste, I would never grill ravioli, because grilled pasta becomes bitter. The deserts were good, the strawberry tiramisu better than the almond cannoli. All over, a tasteful dinner with a fantastic white Jermann.

the place is nothing special, quite cheesy and bad taste. The staff tries hard to help but it's simply not enough: the food is really less than average.

It is a surprisingly good restaurant within a hotel on the national road towards Udine, very convenient for trips of wine seekers on Colli Orientali. We had marvellous ravioli with raw fasolari, and typical and perfect "cialzons" with amaretti. Desserts were incredibly good. If you a have a full meal with "normal" wine expect to pay around â¬60-80.
