Situated on the shores of Sydney Harbour on Rose Bay, Catalina is a beautiful, airy light-filled restaurant and bar with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors opening out onto a long curved balcony over the water. In keeping with its harbourside location,
Another return visit for us to Catalina, for a special occasion. Warmly greeted on arrival by staff, with our wait staff being attentive but not intrusive. Main meals of Beef tenderloin accompanied by greens were expertly prepared and tasted delicious. Good choice of wine. Delightful lunch. Too full for dessert this time. The views are dazzling. Go and enjoy the experience. We did!It is a pleasure to read that you had a wonderful time on your recent visit. We are so pleased that you choose us to celebrate your special occasions! See you for the next one!

Moxhe is a Modern Australian restaurant with a focus on Fresh Seafood. It was started up by partners Helen Diab and David Coumont, and the name comes from David's home village in Belgium. "We love Australian Seafood. The concept of our restaurant is to br
We attended at Moxhe, without a reservation; on a Friday evening. The cheerful staff member accommodated us with a great table. The food was more than delicious. We started with an amuse bouche and then by sharing three different flavours of Sydney rock oysters, then mussels smoked on a bed of lucerne, then squid in a ink jus, with freekah and cucumber, and prawn tortellini. For main we shared sea bream, with pipis, cockles or vongole (depending on where you hail from) and green vegetables. Topped off with banana gelato and chocolate entremet for the dessert lovers. The menu is based around whatever chef has bought at the dayâs market. Not a cheap restaurant but very worthwhile for delicious fresh, carefully considered food. We recommend Moxhe highly,Hi Andrew! Thanks for your kind words, iâll Pass them to the team. Iâm glad you enjoyed your time with us.

Worth the booking. Immaculate seating, decore and polished service by dedicated, educated staff. The view is the gateway to Sydney harbour. The femme gorged on a doz. oysters, scotch fillet with mushies, bacon and creamed potatoes. I plumped for the whiting with vongole, creamed corn, farro and parsley oil. We shared sheep milk pannacotta with berry sorbet, strawberry, meringue and white chocolate. Order me a stretcher, si vous plais .

Modern Australian seafood restaurant located in one of the rocks historic buildings, where those in the know go!Open for lunch 12noon Monday- FridayDinner from 6pm 7 daysBlackboards with daily specials
All our dishes were excellent which offset the very slow service for our group of six. Fortunately management recognized this and comped our last round of drinks and desert. It was a good a response as possible.

Located opposite the ferry terminal in Manly, our focus is on serving the freshest fish available at a reasonable price for the ultimate seafood dining experience. We have daily blackboard specials as well as a great seasonal menu.
Seventh day of her 8-day birthday festival in Sydney and we're still speaking to each other. Another magic Spring day so we took the slow ferry across to Manly (the site of our honeymoon in 1975). We were a bit early for our lunch reservation so we had a drink in the bar - the usual martini and margarita (creatures of habit). Our table on the window at the far end of the restaurant afforded a great view of the Harbour but we found ourselves playing bus roulette for much of the meal. You'll know what that means if you go there for lunch. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient, particularly Jennifer from Ottowa who looked after us for most of the meal. Our entrees were wonderful. Her blue eye and lobster raviolo was, apparently, fantastic but my burrata caprese salad kept me very happy and was equal to the best caprese I've ever had in Italy. For mains, she had the whole rock lobster and I had the crumbed boarfish. I hadn't heard of boarfish before but it was recommended by Jennifer and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The green salad which accompanied our mains was simple but excelllent. Our bottle of Silver Palms chardonnay was a perfect pairing with the meal but had to be supplemented by glasses of Castelli chardonnay.Despite the noise from the large group of girls next to us, we were rather settled so we both had a couple of Irish coffees (with Dom Benedictine instead of whiskey) and agreed that they were even better than the ones we'd had at platform 818 at the start of the festival. We took the fast ferry back to Circular Quay and we'll return to Garfish next time we visit Sydney.

Set on the Manly Wharf where the ferry docks this restaurant is in a splendid position and many seats and tables have excellent views to Sydney Harbour and the beach next to the wharf. Staff were pleasant though food arrived slowly suggesting the kitchen was struggling. Still my oysters were utterly splendid while the crispy skin barramundi was perhaps overcooked. The sweet potato and ginger mash had no taste of anything except sweet potato and the brown sauce did nothing for the fish. Other courses chosen by my husband were certainly generous and I gather the battered fish of the fish and chips was excellent. The starter of meat balls in a tomato sauce was like a main meal so starter prices were barely less than those for mains. And the martini was ridiculously expensive. $190+ for two courses, two glasses of wine and two cocktails is steep in anyoneâs money for this food.

A fabulous seafood lunch. Incredibly friendly and professional staff. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. I can see why this place has won so many awards over the past few years. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food served. I will be returning in the near future.

âYou donât see many restaurants like this anymoreâ Nicholas Jordan, Broadsheet Manlyâs newest seafood restaurant, is located just off the beach in a landmark site that locals have long admired. The Herring Room is family owned & run by veterans of the ind
Having visited The Sardine Room in Potts Point five years ago, I was sad it has closed; however, the owners decided to move the business to Manly and open up the Herring Room. I remained on their mailing list all this time so I knew they had moved.Five years later, I returned to Sydney and the first place I had to visit was the Herring Room. So, after five years the lovely owners Ange and Rodney recognised me and that made my evening. Not only that, I asked about a particular dessert Iâd had at The Sardine Room (a Greek semolina pudding) which wasnât on the menu at the Herring Room. Low and behold, Rodney only went home to get me some so I could have it again. Now thatâs service for you. Sometimes you come across a special place and special people like Ange and Rodney. The Sardine Room lives on in the Herring Room, because the owners have kept the reputation and quality of the service and food to a very high standard and people keep coming back.Itâs worth the ferry ride across from the CBD just to visit The Herring Room and be greeted by the excellent staff and lovely owners.

The food was FABULOUS....!!! Unfortunately, despite the well-groomed and obvious experience in the wait staff, they were somewhat ambivalent toward us - each paying $240 for food alone one would expect a little warmth toward the guest....none...!!!As we sat, we were asked if we were celebrating something special to which we replied yes, we were - at no point did the ask what we were celebrating or if we enjoyed the course as it was cleared....just going through the motions of clearing and delivering the next course...!!! Scripted descriptions of the delivered food with zero interaction....!!Sadly, we had been looking forward to this dining experience for ages and we were extremely disappointed....!!!
