We came in a tour, booking almost 70% of its space, which the restaurant couldn't handle. Many buffet spread items were emptied in minutes and refills were slow. Waitresses do not understand English, making communication difficult. We found a small cockroach on the food when we came in. Food is so so, but the variety is good. For BBQ, they provide marinated pork and beef as well as poultry. Vegetables aplenty, porridge is nice and soup too. The desserts may need improvement - the chocolate ice cream tasted like lime ice cream. Oysters were fresh but not big, with option of fresh or with cheese (for the BBQ). While we filled our stomachs, this could be the first but also the last visit

One of the few restaurants in Hai Phong where you can find daily buffet with international dishes. Nice setting in modern style. Acceptable choice at reasonable price (~$14/pax for dinner).

Truc Lam is a popular restaurant which serves typical Hai Phong dishes. The restaurant is located in the city central area, beside the Grand Cathedral, the museum and the Opera House but in a quiet street. Nice set up with many private dining rooms. I sometime entertain my guests there. The food is really good with large choices. The crab hot pot is just wonderful. Another convenience is that the restaurant serve until late night. Highly recommended for all.

This is a big lively restaurant with great staff, friendly and the best thing is its for locals.Nothing posh or pretending itself to be any more than a place for enjoying your food, your evening and the company you are in.The second time we came they remembered that we weird foreigners prefer cold beer and not ambient with ice.Food is excellent for all manner of fish.Great price too, the boss was paying! Unfortunately the section below for service food and value rating is not working4 star rating for all of them

We arrived by taxi, got seated and the waiters immediately put loads of food on our table, before we have had ordered or had a look at the menu. I didnât want to get ripped off again (as it annoyingly often happens in Vietnam), so I insisted to see the menu and asked about the prices for the food on the table. They basically, without asking, wanted to give us a full treatment of chicken + seafood and side dishes, but at least the full price would have been consistent with the menu prices. So I clarified to the waiter that we only want the seafood hotpot, no chicken, and they removed the food from the table as quick as it was put there. The hotpot itself was very good, the seafood very fresh. So all in all I can suggest this restaurant, just make sure you wonât get more food than you want to order ;)

Flat rice noodle with sea crab meat, a Hai Phong specialty is the main dish of this small restaurant. If you go to Hai Phong of course trying local specialties is highly recommended and this noodle shop is one of the place to be. The shop doesn't have it own style but the food is good in general. You may like it or not, but it has a taste of local. However, there is limited parking space especially for car and van.
