Surprised there aren't any reviews yet. Great fresh fish, nice views, excellent service and good prices. Some locals were having dinner when we were there and of course some tourists as well. Waiters very friendly, right on the coast. Highly recommended as one if the typical Spanish, good quality restaurants.

A perfect place for lunch out the midday sunshine whilst overlooking the beautiful beach of Cala Sant Francesc. Staff are very helpful, the food is great - what more could you want from a beach front bar/restaurant? Plus it's very child friendly too!

Its that type of the many restaurants you'd expect to see in places popular by tourists. The food was not bad mind you, but nothing to write home about either. The mussels we were served as entrees could well have been frozen - and only had small inner meats, the paella was quite okay. Perhaps they tend to 'discriminate' (so to say) between frequent locals and one time foreigners.Service was good however and the view is simply remarkable. Middle of the road!

We lucked out finding Laia, after passing so many fixed price restaurants along the beach, all serving up the same variety of dishes. Where Laia excels is the atmosphere and unmatched service! Our large group of 7 was greeted with a bit of uncertainty when we pushed to sit inside (it was a bit cold this early May evening), but they quickly accommodated us by turning and moving several tables to make things work well.We started with delicious cuts of jamon (presunto) and perfectly ripe melon, along with some of the best calamari I've had in years. Perfectly cooked, lightly breaded so as not to rob from the quality of the calamari, all leaving you wishing you'd order more.Five of us split the Special Paella, which came from the kitchen piping hot and cooked to absolute perfection. Coupled with a pitcher of sangria, we could not have been more content with such a fantastic meal. All of the restaurant staff were constantly making sure everything was perfect, and their smiles and friendly demeanor really made our evening a wonderful experience. Skip the touristy restaurants in Calella, and the run of the mill in Blanes, and head directly to Laia! You will not regret it!

Had dinner here as a family with a three year old and fairly late after a long day at the beach. We were a little concerned that the place was not very kid friendly and not very accommodating to English speaking customers, as indicated by some of the reviews. We found both not to be true. The waiter was very kind to the child, even rewarding her with a lollipop at the end of the meal for being so good. He was very helpful, spoke English well and gladly. The food was fresh. We had calamari, boiled shrimp, a combination seafood plate with shrimp, langostinos, calamari, razor clams, clams, mussels, etc. The food was fresh and we shared everything family style. The three year old had spaghetti Bolognese and loved it. Dessert is a bit disappointing as they are not house made but factory made ice cream concoctions. Good wine list and good Sangria.Very enjoyable meal right at the beach.

My husband and I were recommended this restaurant for my birthday meal. We called in earlier to book as it was a Saturday night. We were offered a great table which allowed our dog to sit in peace whilst we eat. The choices on the menus were good and we were also offered the specials of fish of the day. I had prawn cocktail to start and my husband had a Mediterrà nia salad. Both were a delight. My mains was fillet steak and my husbands monkfish both again cooked to perfection and our liking. The staff were helpful responsive and friendly. I realise it was a quiet time of year so not as busy as summer. The overall experience was very good and value for money. We would definitely go again.

If you love seafood, this is the place to go! Situated in the city center, in front of the beach, very beautiful view! We went there for lunch and we made the reservation one hour before. They were very nice and offered us a table outside. We tried calamares anadaluza, gambas à la plancha and sépia à la plancha. Everything was delicious. Waiters very nice also. The pictures talk by themselves. I recommend reservation.

Just got back from our breathtaking meal this evening. Went for some paella after seeing some reviews on here, was a hundred times better than I could have imagined. A selection of starters including calamari and mussels followed by the most beautiful seafood paella, and then dessert! All in for â¬20 each and then we had some sangria too. Would recommend this place to anybody looking for seafood based dishes. Honestly we were both so amazed by this place! Love it and the staff are lovely too! Hope to be back!
