Get the right angles & this Church becomes the Iconic Kotor Old Town image ... especially with the mountains, the incredible Wall fortifications & Our Lady Of Remedy Chapel sitting like a bird in the distance. The gold shines quite majestically in the sun & presents an aura that I'm sure was not coincidental.

Interesting history of how the Orthodox and Roman Catholic congregations shared this church for generations- modern society has much to learn. Ancient frescoes have survived just inside on the right. Seek it out and observe the stillness.

This Cathedral is hard to miss as any walk around the Old Town will inevitably take you to St Tryphon Square & this building. Although suffering damage in earthquakes - hence the spires are not identical - it has been rebuilt in the original Romanesque style of 1166 when it was consecrated. Interior has magnificent frescoes & of course plenty of gilt religious artifacts. On the mountain side of St John, built into the fortifications, is a chapel "Our Lady of Remedy" ... how easy it is to visit I can't personally tell you! The word is 'tough'.

Small and beautiful church full of archaeological finds. Ancient church built on site of earlier church. Very helpful and extremely knowledgeable guide. Well worth visit
