The Mosque of Constanta - Minaret

A landmark of the Turkish role in the region, The Mosque of Constanta was built in 1910. It features a 50 meter high (160 ft.) lookout with spectacular views of the surrounding area including the Black Sea.

Reviewed By Edmundo_de_ABQ - Albuquerque, United States

The Mosque is open to the public and visitors are graciously allowed to peruse inside and if they feel up to it, walk the up the narrow circular stairway to the observation deck atop the Minaret where they can gain a panoramic view of Constanta and the Black Sea. It is worth the effort to get that view!

Great Synagogue

Reviewed By Vladimiramirela - Mississauga, Canada

At the end of a street in the old area of Constanta, the former Ashkenazi synagogue stands in ruins. The walls are the only remaining testimony of the beauty of the Jewish community's heritage in this area. The roof and part of the interior walls had collapsed, and the structure of the building is damaged. Even in its current stage, the remains of this building stand proof of its past greatness and it is still worth paying a visit.
