Blink and you’ll miss this place as you drive through the quaint little town of Shady Cove. Nestled next to the scenic Rogue River this 50’s style diner is loaded with atmosphere and GREAT food.
The dishes have names like “the big bopper” and “Johnny B. Goode”. I had the Don’t Talk Back burger which was a cheese, bacon and mushroom deal. Very good. Others had a Frisco burger an egg burger creation and a pastrami sandwich. They got excellent reviews.
Service was local friendly style and fast. They also do breakfast and the menu was huge. We will be going back.

Nothing special. Barely adequate service. Expect a long table wait at busy times. Reasonably-priced food and good portions. Complementary pre-dinner nachos were a nice touch. Nice riverside location if you are fortunate to sit outside.

Part of the Fishin Hole Fly Shop Business that includes a Fishing Guide Service, Raft Rentals, a Gourmet Deli & a Gift & Yarn Shop.
The Picnic Basket aka The Fishing Hole has the best sandwiches you're going to find not just in Shady Cove but in the surrounding areas. They bake their own rolls and only use top quality meats and cheeses. You can tell they really take pride in their business based on how well they prepare their sandwiches in addition to having a really unique and well stocked shop. Shady Cove is very lucky to have this place open year round.

This is your regular old-fashioned small town hamburger joint. The burgers are good, the fries are fairly good (and you get a lot). The Umpqua ice cream and shakes are awesome. If you are looking for McDonald's, don't go here. They are not fast! But we like it.

American Diner, spezialisiert auf Pizza, große Salatbar
Nice waitress and service was good. Sodas kept full and kept checking to make sure all was OK. Ordered pizza and wings. It was good pizza, not great & not poor. But soon after leaving, my friend and I both had to hit the bathroom quickly!! This lasted all the way home, 5 hour drive. I think I would pass the next time I was in town.

There are not many choices for food in Shady Cove. This Subway made up the standard sandwiches with a very nice person working behind the counter. They were only open from 8 - 8. Don't show up early or late if you want food.

Size was later than needed... Price was beyond fair. Presentation looked good. The biscuits & gravy I was told was good & so was the chicken fried steak. My spinach mushroom omelette not do much. Never thought I'd need to ask if the tons on spinach used to fill it would be fresh spinach or frozen? Taste completely different! I did not care for my dish but have not sworn them off... I'll eventually give them another shot. Staff friendly thinking we were kids when in 40's found it humorous.

We are bicycle touring the northwest. We have eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants over the last few years. Not sure what all the rave reviews are about because the food here is average at best. Guess some people don't eat out much. While the food was edible, the chicken and rice were both served lukewarm and the sweet and sour sauce taste like they just dumped it out of a bottle. The rice was served on the plate rather than a separate container which would have kept it hot. The waitress was very friendly though. Place is pretty clean and the prices are average-about $10/entree. Considering its competition in Shady Cove, this is probably one of your better choices.

The owner of this establishment is very rude. Go to the 76 station across the street for fuel snacks & friendly community service.
