What a great place in a great town. My wife and I split the halibut sandwich and the soup of the day (corn chowder). Everyone was happy with their food and drink selections. Our server was great and much to my surprise they were playing Frank Sinatra during our entire meal. Made it feel like my parents were sitting with us. I recommend checking Hope out and giving this place a try.

Located on the Seward Highway along scenic Turnagain Arm (a short drive south of Anchorage), this place offers excellent food and beverages for dining aficionados :)). The cafe is small and cozy, with a rustic ambiance... the menu is quite expansive, and service is friendly/polite too. The Foragers Benedict was delicious (!) and this dish was accompanied by yummy home style potatoes... we’ll be back to sample more of their dishes... enjoy! (Note: reservations can be made here... seating is somewhat limited, and the cafe can be quite busy at times :)

This is a small joint w 4-5 tables. They have a selection of baked goods, quiches, chili, and a few sandwiches. Everything was tasty and the service was friendly. We got 2 slices of pie (I recommend banana cream) and they were good, but cost $17.50. Also, beer was available at this place if you're looking for that.

Bringing authentic southern BBQ to Alaska is our passion, is our mission. We thrive on being true to traditional southern low n slow smoked meats and classic BBQ sides. We skimp on no part of that age old tradition, we replicate the BBQ masters every step of the way. We honour the ‘Q’ and all that it stands for. We don’t follow trends and we don’t sway from classic BBQ – well sometimes, but only rarely and then not very far. If they don’t do it down south, you likely won’t see it at our PiT.
Where else in Alaska could you find sweet tea?! WOW! Great brisket! Good bar-b-que with selection of "regional" sauces. Fried okra in Alaska! What a treat! Great appetizer selection. Generous portions. Great service. What more can you want? Stop here en route between Anchorage and Seward, or like we did en route back toward Anchorage from a Glacier outing in Whittier. You won't regret it!

Bowman's Bearcreek Dinner House is on the grounds of Bowman's Bearcreek Lodge in Hope, Alaska
Little Hope, AK has a gourmet restaurant!. We chose from a menu of 3 different selections. We chose from three different selections. My scallops were perfect and it came with a fantastic corn, jalapeno side. There are only a few tables so the service and food are easily kept quality. Our trip to Hope was our most pleasant one during our 12 day trip to AK. Hiking with different fauna from others areas; adorable history museum; close to Portage Glacier and Wildlike Conservation facility; fishing; rafting. And then to top it off with such a great restaurant was fantastic. i think we paid about $30 each for our meals and it was definitely worth it. In Ak all food is more costly than in the contiguous US and many meals there are $22 for a very basic average entree. Bowman's included dessert, appetizers, salad, etc. at that price so it was just as affordable and more delicious than many of the restaurants we tried in AK.

Old local bar, quite unique and very 'rustic' to say the least... bizarrely enough they serve one of the best burgers we have EVER had! Plus the service is great. So don't be put off that it's not the flashiest looking joint - it's a great place and definitely worth a stop in!

We went out to the Indian house for dinner the other night, the food and the service was wonderful. They are under new management and just reopened. They did a great job with the best shrimp scampi I have ever eaten. The shrimp was large and tender. Grandpa Don had the halibut picante and it was wonderful too. So if he get a chance to go out the Seward Highway 15 miles south of Anchorage, stop and have some dinner and you won't be disappointed. While we we saw whales out on Turnagain Arm and the weather and the scenery were beautiful.

We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely meal we had at the Turnagain House Restaurant. We just happened in as we were driving to Anchorage from Homer. The food was very well prepared, the menu extensive, and the wine list interesting. Service wasn't very professional, but our waiter was nice enough.
