ON the road. 107 outside. Stopped for a lunch. Service very quick and food came very quickly. We got 2 Gilroy chicken sandwiches with grilled onions, garlic and cheese. Chicken with great caramelized taste but not dry. Lemon meringue homemade pie for dessert. Total with 2 teas $33.78
Easy on and off freeway. In the same building as a hotel.

Our family has been going to this restaurant for almost 40 years now. Ownership has changed at least once that I know of, but the food is still good-excellent, though there isn't as much of it as there once was. The quality is still there, however. I usually opt for the La Fogata Special. That is a combination of a sopa, chicken or beef enchilada, and beef or chicken taco. I have had other combos as well and they are all delicious.
Fresh tortillas are served as soon as you arrive along with fresh home made tortillas chips and chili sauce. Both are excellent. The only complaint I have is sometimes it takes awhile for the waitress to take your order after she brings the chips and tortillas. Also the wait time after she takes your order. So wait times are the only complaint I have. Other then that, it's a truly epicurean experience.

I tend to stop at McDonald's when taking long drives. The food is decent, the bathrooms are clean, and they give senior coffee at discount prices. However, this one also made me feel they really cared about me and were so nice I was impressed and noticed the manager treated her employees as kindly as she treated me. The best part was for leas than $5 I was able to get a salad, 4 piece chicken McNuggets, and coffee...which also was under 500 calories. I was able to check Facebook on their free WiFi too. I've been back and it remains my favorite McDonald's.

The name has changed from Cheezers to California Gourmet Pizza. We were traveling and just found this place by accident. Not that much around the area so we were pleasantly surprised that the food was better than your standard pizza place. Liked the variety that was offered on the menu. The pizzas were piled with toppings Very tasty crust. Nice to know this place is here next time we are on the road. The restaurant is also clean.

How authentic? English was the second language spoken when I went. The counter staff had to translate questions that I had for the cooking staff. Which was not a problem, because the counter staff was fluent in both Spanish and English. I had chicken tacos. They were made quickly. I asked for them "to go"... which apparently isn't asked often. What I got was a foil-wrapped plate. When I opened it, I was pleased to find not only the tacos, but some cooked and raw vegetables, too. All were fresh. Excellent. The place is fairly convenient to the 101 freeway, which I was traveling when dinner time hit. The place was a serendipitous find. Recommended for through travelers who are tired of "standard" fast food stops.

Although I've never considered reviewing a chain-fast food restaurant, I felt the need to write a few words about this one. My husband and I had been driving for a few hours and needed to stop and stretch our legs and pick up a cold drink. We pulled off hwy 101 at exit 294 B and pulled into the BK which was fairly empty. First stop, the restroom. I've seen port-a-potties cleaner than this. This was not just a busy morning type of dirty, but layers of filth from chronic neglect. When I emerged from the restroom, my husband had the same reaction to the men's room. As we headed to the counter to purchase a beverage, it quickly became apparent that lack of cleanliness was not limited to the rest rooms. The floors, walls and counters were smeared with dried ketchup, grease, and grime. As we approached the counter, we could see it was sticky. How filthy can a fast food restaurant be for a couple to be too disgusted to even purchase a beverage? Visit the Burger King in Greenfield, CA at the Walnut st exit off Hwy 101, and find out.
