In the timey Bulkley Valley village of Burns Lake, we were happy to fight anything to eat. So we headed for the Chinese restaurant just across the street and found pretty good food, not so different from what we would have in Toronto. The fried rice was good and the vegetables were crisp. Only problem, they did not let us forget that they were about to close.

I Came here for supper. This place has been here since the '50's, under different families. Friendly folks. I ordered liver & onions: my gauge of cooking quality. Alas 5/10. Average prices. Tidy washroom.

I have driven past his place for years, so i thought i'd try it for supper. It has an unpromising exterior but i found the inside quie neat. Also, a very neat washroom. Prompt, friendly service. I had liver & onions & coffee. Well made. Total, with tax, $12.60.
I will return.

I went here on Valentines day with my mom, sister and brother in-law
We had Reservations for 6pm. They were extremely busy so couldn't seat us until about 6:30 because people didn't want to leave so that just delayed everything.
We had no problem with this even though the staff kept apologizing we knew there was nothing they could do about it.
The restaurant was completely packed so everything took a little longer than usual but I just want to say despite being extremely busy the food and service were top notch.
We all got our food and it was all hot and freshly cooked.
If you would have closed your eyes and not seen the restaurant packed, you would have said we were the only ones in there and we had our own private chef. It was that good!
Very Impressed that despite being so busy the quality of the food was not compromised. Good job to everyone there. Great integrity. Great place to eat.

A step back in time to a old fashioned drive in, 20 minutes into the countryside off the Yellowhead highay. Perfect for those heading to Francois Lake and points south, or just wanting to meander off the beaten track.
