Shelter, Soak and Slow Down...In the South-eastern sweeping side of Siargao, Isla Cabana sits idly waiting for you to shelter, soak and slow down.
Went here with my husband, MIL, and 3 kids. We super enjoyed our stay here - Our cabana is big and has complete amenities, the food is good at Isla Cusina, the resort is big so my kids enjoyed running around and they enjoyed swimming in the pool. Isla Cabana has two pools so it didn’t get crowded. The entire resort was new landscaped and we definitely felt we were in a paradise. I already expected the slow wifi internet because of the other reviews so I just used my phone’s data. I almost didn’t book this resort because of the negative reviews here but good thing I listened to my friend’s rating (she rated this resort 5/5) over the reviews here in tripadvisor. I actually didn’t understand the negative reviews because we really had a great time at Isla Cabana, I can say that it’s kid-friendly too. If we’re going to go back in Siargao, we will definitely stay here again!

Receptionist not so welcoming. Other staff are good. Pero sumakit tyan ko. Not sure if sa shells na kinain ko. Hindi ko tuloy na-enjoy entire stay for my birthday. First day was okay but the next day after eating their unli seafood lumala na sakit ng tyan ko. Better be mindful of what you eat and the quantity. Because of that, wasn't able to swim. Stayed in the room the whole day with upset stomach, lbm, headache and sour body. Another factor maybe the long hikes we made towards seven eleven. The guard said as if seven eleven is near. But it turns out it is way down down near the lipata pier, about 1-2km. Not sure. There's no water when we arrived in our room, as I checked the cr. Buti na resolve din. Live band during the night was good.

The resort is located directly on the beach with white fabulously fine sand which runs into a shallow lagoon protected from the rough Pacific Ocean by a coral barrier. The turquoise water in the lagoon is crystal clear and can be as warm as 35°C so you may feel at times as if staying in a spa resort. We offer accommodation in spacious, nicely equipped and neat villa-like bungalows. All of them are provided with air-conditioning and powerful fans (selection possible), fridge, hot water shower, large veranda with an ocean view and a panoramic front sliding wall.Resort has a new infinity swimming pool with amazing view on Pacific Ocean.
Be careful booking this hotel. They have rooms far from their main hotel near the main road that isnt advertised in agoda.Poor wifi,no hot water,no TV.The Lady owner was friendly on our arrival but when we asked to move to another room she wasn't friendly the next day.Food also expensive, you get a free breakfast t coffee to pay 159 each All basic and poor quality.Go somewhere cheaper and nicer and cleaner beach and pool like Siargao Island Villas also front beach hotel. Some staff are friendly though.

Dude with the braces was unprofessional and rude. Wasn’t helpful at all. Didn’t want to help me with my luggage cause God forbid he ruins his nails. He’s a bit of a primadonna. The owner shouldn’t hire someone who’s clueless about hospitality. If you want to be a successful hotel, hire professionals. Also, it would be nice if the staff were all wearing uniforms and not house clothes so we can easily distinguish them from guests. And why in the world is Mr. Brace/Primadonna taking personal ID’s of the guests and storing it on his phone? This is a big privacy issue. And the owner should learn how to run this property the right way and stop this madness. It’s crazy that you have your staff storing personal information of the guests on their phone. This a serious privacy issue. The pictures online are deceiving. Safe, tv, hot shower, Wi-Fi wasn’t working. Too many bugs and mosquitoes in the room that will eat you alive. The hotel smells like a wet dog. Why does the owner have her dog running around the hotel? If you’re going to have your dog running around the hotel at least disclose that so your guests can make informed choices and not get surprised by the stench around the hotel. Are you trying to run a business or what? Stains on the sheets, drapes and that mosquito net around the bed. You’ll wake up with bugs on your bed. Food? Nothing here to excite me. Maybe you should focus more on making quality and tasty foods rather than on focusing on how to make it look cute and instagrammable. That can only take you so far. This is like bait and switch. What you see is not what you get. The Hillside Resort, Siargao is like a ship that’s sinking really fast! Also, our 1,500 php ride/driver to the airport is probably related to your receptionist with the braces because he has the same unpleasant attitude. Also not very helpful and rude! To the owner, your hotel can be good, it can be better if you hand it to professionals who can run it better than you. Sometimes, it’s better to be in the background and let someone else who knows how to run a hotel run your business. This is the only way I see that this hotel can succeed. Otherwise it’s already failed. I will not comeback nor recommend your hotel to anyone. There’s a lot of issues and a lot of stuff that’s not working. There’s nothing relaxing about this stay. I couldn’t wait to LEAVE and was relieved when I did.

One of the most Reasonable accomodation in Siargao with direct access to sea. I honestly don't swim here but bike to Malinao but the fact that you are enjoying the seabreeze in a nice homey atmosphere is such pure joy. People are friendly, they have long term tenant which you can chitchat and share nice life experience. Eddie and his Wife are very warm and welcoming people. I would love to experience to stay at the 2nd floor room overlooking the water but was fullybooked when I was there. Not for luxury traveller but mid budget, this is far from major restaurant so preferred if you have your own bike or ride. They pick up in the airport if you need transpo. Recommended. I love the nice tropical plants around.

Conveniently located in General Luna on Siargao Island, Patrick’s on the Beach is a lush tropical beach front resort surrounded by beautiful trees, flowers and a pristine white sand beach. This unique resort offers the total Philippine experience. Perfect for a Honeymoon Destination, ideal for Diving, Snorkeling, Surfing, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Kite-Boarding, Kayaking, Fishing, Jungle Hiking, Island Hoping, Caving, Mountain Climbing, Bird Watching, Action Touring, Fun & Games and much more… The restaurant right by the beach offers a great variety of delicious local and exquisite international dishes. The place is the ideal starting point for a discovery trip to Guyam and Daku Island.
Patrick's on the beach is a family run hotel on a large beachfront property. We stayed in a beach front cottage, which was absolutely wonderful. Each cottage has a large porch where you can sit and have your morning coffee (they make excellent brewed coffee in giant coffee cups btw), and/or drink your evening cocktails while watching the boats and the surf. Their beach is sandy and clean and great for swimming. If you want to go island hopping, a boat will pull right up to the hotel and take you. No need for the cramped van ride to some public pier. They have a very nice restaurant and bar, but will happily serve your meal at one of the pagodas on the beach. And probably most important, the staff are amazing. This isn't a new style hotel, or a cookie cutter chain hotel. There isn't a flat screen tv with 47 shopping channels in each room, but they do have Aircon, a mini fridge, a great bed, and a large tile bathroom. Think of it as more of a siargao adventure base in a garden of Eden type setting. It's in the heart of Gen. Luna's restobar scene. You can walk everywhere (even take a shortcut on the beach).

Passing through the gates of NAY PALAD HIDEAWAY, you leave the real world behind. Welcome to the barefoot state of mind. There is no need for wallet here. No check are signed, from now on every delicacy you desire, every drink you fancy, every massage you need, every adventure you seek, is yours for the asking. My wife and I stayed at Nay Palad six months ago. I want to preface by saying I had super high expectations of the resort due to the TripAdvisor reviews and most especially, the price - which is almost at par with international luxury resorts. That being said, let's start with the good. Nay Palad has the best food and service in the Philippines. Period. It's the only luxury resort in the Philippines where I thought both the food and service were at an international standard. After visiting other countries, I've always thought that the service outside the Philippines was of a different class and I've finally found a resort that meets that standard within the Philippines. All-inclusive everything was just icing on the cake and it was executed to perfection. Hats off to Chef Marc and his team, the food was impeccable. Absolutely delicious. Chef Marc made our stay memorable. He always came up to us to ask how our food and stay was. His service and hospitality was outstanding. Every staff member was super helpful without being overbearing. This is exactly what I thought I would get when they said "barefoot luxury". Service from pickup at the airport all the way to our departure was incredible. All-inclusive means you can do everything you want without worrying about the costs or the logistics because they would take care of everything. Service was also personal and specialized. They would ask if we wanted to eat or do anything special, there was a cake and singing on my birthday, and even balloons, a greeting and champagne in the room. A great effort by the team. The spa was okay. They hire third party service providers to do the massages. It was nothing memorable but still above average. That's fine with me as you can go everyday for however long you wish, so you leave the resort feeling super relaxed. Now, the only thing I didn't like about the resort were the villas. When you pay this much, you expect a room of a certain standard. We booked the most inexpensive (superior) villa and we were really disappointed. Even though it's the "cheapest" of the lineup, at the price you pay, you expect a room to wow you. The room was not really clean. We found leftover dirt in the shower area. There were also always dead ants on one of the tables, even if you cleaned it up, there would be more later on. (Must have something to do with them falling from the roof). Room and bathroom was also a bit on the smaller side and was noticeably a bit dated. The layout also wasn't the best. I later found out that these were the original rooms on the island owned by a previous company and were renovated. But, for the price, I'll say that there are much better rooms in a lot of resorts in the Philippines. Resort managers always say we should let them know of our problems while we're at the hotel instead of when we're gone so they can do something about it. So after the first night, I talked to the manager Vince about our room and credit to him and his team, he put us in a newer and larger villa (one, I believe was built from the ground up, and not just renovated.) The staff were super helpful in transferring all our things and the room was excellent and up to the standards we expected. So kudos to them for making our stay as enjoyable as possible. The Island of Siargao is beautiful. It's worth spending time in it. It's much more laid back and less commercialized than say, Boracay. If you're looking for the Island life vibe, this is a place you might enjoy. The resort can tour you around on a day trip and you can also try activities like surfing. Take the land tour as the island has some stunning places off the beaten path. Overall, we had a great stay at Nay Palad. If it didn't cost as much, I would not have so high expectations of the villa. But alas, my suggestion is if the villa really matters to you and you can afford it, go for the deluxe villas which are more expensive and skip the superior villas. Honestly speaking, even though we had a wonderful experience, we would not return if we had to stay in the superior villa, as it stands now. However, the care, hospitality and service really made our time worthwhile. If there was an option, I'd give the resort 4.5 stars, removing half a star because of the base rooms. Everything else was great and met or exceeded our expectations and I hope the resort can continue to improve and be world-class.
