"Fatboys" is derived from the character "Joe" from the book "The Pickwick Papers" by Charles Dickens. Joe-the “fat boy” consumes great quantities of food and constantly falls asleep in any situation at any time of the day; the Fatboys life revolves around drinking, eating, sleeping and making every conceivable effort to avoid work. Whilst at Fatboys Resort the customer becomes "Joe the Fatboy". Enjoy an ice cold bevy, a plate of fresh crayfish pan-fried in lime juice and butter, a game of pool, or simply kick back and be mesmerized by the myriad of tropical fish swimming underneath you. But being closly related to the writings of Dickens, there are of course many adventures to be had. We stayed in one of the bungalows and it was clean and spacious. The staff looked after us very well. We dined on freshly caught seafood everyday and Manu was kind enough to arrange for some to bring back to Honiara with us! The staff booked a day trip for us to skull island which was amazing. Our only complaint was there were 3 of us and only 2 hammocks to relax in!

Evis Resort on Nggatirana Island is the newest resort in the Western Province. We offer a high standard of comfort together with great views on this private island. The Sunset Restaurant overlooks the lagoon and our Boat Bar stocks a good selection of hand picked wines and beers. One of the premium beachfront bungalows is disabled friendly with extra wide 900mm doors, high level electric sockets and flat bridge access to our central unit with houses the restaurant, bar and shop. This disabled friendly unit also offers ramp access to a beachhead boardwalk. The island is a designated nature conservation area and off the beach snorkeling along our 200 m coral 'farm' is a must with a wide variety of corals and reef fish. We can organise days out to the many spectacular places within easy reach in the lagoon and along the coast of South Vangunu. Dive school opens early 2017.
We stayed here for 4 days when visiting the Western Province and found the island a perfect place for quiet and relaxation. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals were varied and sumptuous. Our room was modern and from the balcony we could watch small and large vessels going past. We swam from the small beach and visited the village of Halisi on the main island across the water. We enjoyed the walk around the island and relaxing on our balcony enjoying the views. The island as in many places in the Solomon Islands has limited power, but we were able to charge our phones and the absence of hot water was not an issue given the daily temperatures and humidity! We enjoyed our stay, especially the friendliness of the staff who made us welcome and the experience of this lovely environment.

From the warm welcome to the care in meal preparation to the kindness of the people to the expertise of the boat captain to the high level of safety and professionalism from the dive master...what a remarkable place. Dive Master Stewie and Captain Ivan will always be remembered for their kindness and good humor. Their competency was top notch and we felt completely safe diving and seeing the magic that is the Solomon Islands under water. This facility is on the edge of a forest on the shore of Gatakae. We listened to the small waves wash up from our porch over the water. We ate beautifully prepared fish and native fruits and vegetables. It was a perfect experience. You should know before you go that this is not a Hyatt. There is no A/C. No hot water for showering. There are mosquito nets in the rooms, but no screens on the windows. But there is delightful carving on the walls, intricate thatching on the roof and the breeze floats thru your room. There is also a gentle request that women dress/swim in more modest clothing....leave the mini bikini for a different stop. But the water is clear with giant clams, octopi and multicolored fish just off the dock. If we can return, it will be a true blessing.

Brilliant! I frequently found myself reflecting during our travels that I should of been here 20-40 years ago. Tetepare was the exception. A bit of effort to get to and from, i regret we only stayed 3 days, we should of stayed at least 5. Coral gardens is the best hard coral snorkel I have ever done. The lagoon is safe and not very deep so the kids had a great time. Plenty of Hawksbill turtles, the kids loved swimming with the reef sharks, the dolphins and their acrobatics were awesome. Staff and food were all good, facilities are much more advanced than the website depicts. I want to return in a few years to do some bush walks and see the dugong's .

Inside the hotel complex is a classic old French restaurant with a top class French chef who can serve up a beef wellington that no-one can forget. The pastry is home made and you can imagine the chef needing butter into the amazing moist and succulent pastry that is wrapped around one of Vanuatus finest fillet steaks. The potato gratin and side vegetables tasted purely French. Our guest commented that you would fly to Honiara just to experience a beef wellington from this restaurant. Don't mind as out! An amazing night.

An upmarket business class hotel in Solomon Islands
I stayed for one month in a 3 bedroom apartment. All of the staff were friendly and went out of their way to assist. We did have maintenance issues but these were quickly resolved. In summary the apartments we’re comfortable and made even better by the friendly attitude of the staff
