Hello,My wife and I recently visited this establishment for "Afternoon Tea" The views were very classy from our spot high above North Shields Fish Quay sadly the food was disappointing! The grub itself was well prepared but alas the quantity and selection of sandwiches was very lacking. Left feeling badly let down!

Stumbled upon this place while walking around the fish quay and onto Tynemouth. My wife and I both ordered the fish and chips which was very fresh and cooked perfectly. There was also homemade tartare sauce and minted peas. The batter was light and crispy too just how we like it.

Visited here to try it out after hearing good reviews about it. My sister and I chose mince and dumplings and were both impressed. It was quite busy so did wait a little longer than usual. The portions were absolutely fab! We got carrots, cabbage, mashed potato and peas with a HUGE dumpling with loads of mince! It was served with a large jug of gravy and all of it was piping hot. My only criticism was that normally you're asked if everything is ok with your meal but we weren't asked. Pity because I would've gladly told them it was spot on. For 2 meals and 2 large cokes our bill was just under £17. We will definitely return as we need to try the meatballs next!

Rock hard Yorkshire pudding, uncooked broccoli and ghostly white 'roast' potatoes with no crispness or colour whatsoever let the carvery down today. On the plus side, the carrots and parsnips were lovely. My friend and I both enjoyed our desserts (apple toffee crumble and syrup sponge), served with beautifully smooth custard. The Gib gave good overall value and friendly service as always, but the disappointing elements of the carvery made an 'average' rating the only option on this occasion.

A lovingly restored bar and eatery in the heart of Tynemouth. Youâll find us midway down Tynemouthâs bustling Front Street just through the sleepy arches of the old arcade. Nestled amongst the boutique shops, restaurants, old pubs, surf shops and deliâs t
We used to go here every week but once the chef left and the food quality suffered we stepped back... The replacement chef is OK.... The place is tired now and needs a serious lick of paint too which I am told is happening in August... Fingers crossed as we do like the place and the staff Hi Stephen,We are sorry to hear youâre feeling a little disappointed with Lola Jeans as of late, especially with you being someone who has been a regular guest in the past! We agree that our venues are in need of a little TLC due to the wear and tear our busy weekends bring. With this in mind, we have two big refurbishments planned due in October which weâre very excited about! We canât wait for everyone to see what we have in store. We take great pride in our food quality and quality of service, and will be sure to pass on your comments to the management team to ensure that our food is up to the signature Lola Jeans standard you have come to expect of us. The Cinder Path can be found in the coastal town of South Shields. Famous as the birthplace of Catherine Cookson, whose popular novel The Cinder Path the restaurant takes its name from. The restaurant is only ten minutes away from the popular seaside with
Startlingly awakened at approximately 6 am along with loads of other guests on the ground floor ( mostly elderly folk) by a fire alarm that was mistakenly set off. Tbh I didnât realise how many people were staying on the ground floor until we were all in the corridor clutching our belongings. Most disturbingly rude was the harsh comments by the newly arrived duty manager who seemed to not give a flying saucer about the scenario and waved it off blasé. I asked tongue in cheek will we all get a breakfast and she snapped back at me that she did not have the authority to do that darling. I then had the duty to wander back down the corridor and tell the mostly elderly folk that it was a false alarm ( standing with zimmers some of them were, in their nightgowns etc.) whilst the DM scurried off to her office with a big lever arch file tucked under her arm. Pretty appalling I think, well thatâs just my opinion. Other than that had a great evening celebrating and beds were dead comfortable for the few hours we had them for. .....ohhh and the barman grouchier than the grinch!! Hates the Christmas thing going on. We loved it.

Went for meal with friends after visiting for a drink a few weeks ago and thought the meals looked lovely. Food was all beautiful, everything cooked fresh, good sized portions. I had steak and ale pudding which was really good, friends had steaks, sausage and mash and fish and chips and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Really good value, would definitely recommend it.

We ordered a grilled chicken breast with a sauce, mash and vegetables and I had the fish finger sandwich with double-cooked chips. Great range of beers. Friendly welcome. It's a real local as well as attracting visitors. Both meals were great. My fish finger sandwich looked like home made fish fingers. The chips were excellent so was the tartare sauce. The chicken was delicious apparently. There's a nice community feel- there was a MacMillan coffee morning happening in the other bar. The cakes and coffee looked great. The staff were friendly and really helpful to customers. Food arrived pretty quickly. Portions generous. Everything clean. Prices good. We will be back for the famous pie and chips soon.
