When I found out that local fish restaurant the Fish Tale was closing, I was sad. It's not that the Fish Tale was an awesome restaurant, but it was decent, it was local, and it was one of the few longtime neighborhood restaurants still around. And it was the closest to "fine dining" you find in the Los Altos neighborhood. However, when I was told that an Irish pub was opening in its place, I thought "hum, this might be good." Turns out, this isn't much of an Irish pub - it's a sports bar - lots of TVs, quite loud, all of that. Yes, there are a few "Irish" items on the menu, but in general the menu is focused on sports bar food - buffalo wings, nachos, potato skins, burgers, sandwiches, and a few entrees like meatloaf. That would be fine, if the food was good. I like bar food. Sometimes, I am in the mood for buffalo wings or potato skins or a burger. The problem is, the food isn't that good. Some items are OK (like the burgers and wings), others are less than good (like the fish and chips). The fact is, if I am going to splurge on fatty, spicy bar food, I want it to be really good! Otherwise, why deal with all those calories? It's a bummer, as I'd love to have a good neighborhood joint to go to when we don't feel like cooking - but this just isn't it. We've given it a couple of tries (once shortly after it opened and once more recently), and at this point we've 86ed it.

Quality meats, inventive sauces, toasted buns, melted cheeses and blended shakes that shout flavor.Weâre on a mission to challenge the way people think about burgers. Weâre about creative construction. We think life is about experiences. Trying stuff. Lea
Service was decent fast. Good veggie club sandwich and beef and blue cheese burger. Quite a few options for beer and floats. Nice environment as well. Nothing to complain except that prices are a bit high. Expect a burger to cost you $16 with taxes and tip with no special customization. Beer, fries are extra so you are easily looking at $25-30 per person.

My uncle, my sister and I had dinner here. It was good. I got a salad that was really good and my drink was good. It was kind of late so there were not a lot of people there but the inside is nice.

I have eaten here many many times since it opened. Its a unique concept of getting food and drinks in threes, everything is bite sized. When it first opened, the food, the service and the drinks were amazing. The past 3 times I have been, its been getting worse each time. The food order was messed up once, the food quality has def gone down. They need to fix it right away before they lose all customers.Hello Explorer767135,We take our service extremely serious. Fantastic pizzeria, great food & drink, awesome customer service! We visited on a busy Saturday eve & the place was bustling. It's a vibrant, busy pizzeria, even though only open (we found out) a couple of months. Noisy, yes, but VERY friendly scene and not obnoxious. The communal tables were kinda nice, you actually can talk to strangers (gasp) and be sociable! Very friendly crowd. The fries were outrageously good (my boy said "I can't stop eating these") and the pizza was amazingly fresh. You could tell they use fresh quality ingredients. SO GOOD! We heard others raving about their wings, pizza, & other bites they tried.EVERY single staff person we came in contact with incl. one of the owners (Andrew), was extremely courteous & nice, and went out of their way for customer service. Even the teens bussing tables were very polite and knew what they were doing. I kept hearing "thank you" (gosh what a concept and such an easy thing for businesses to say, yet hardly say it any more.) Andrew and others would jump in and say "I can do that for you" or "I'll get that right away for you". These employees seem to enjoy what they're doing, and staff has obviously been trained well in customer service. The beer and wine lists were impressive. Great IPA's to keep the hubby happy - can't complain! And the retro pinball games? Nice! Great to keep the kids (big and little) occupied.GREAT JOB to State of Mind! We live in the so. SJose area, but look forward to coming back every chance we can!

A teaming large sports bar like environment with (unfortunately) many TVs, and (fortunately) many staff. They were busy on a Saturday night but we managed to get in without a reservation or a wait at 7:30pm.The first sensation is noise and crowds. Every space that could be taken with a table is used and the tables are close together. It was a little deafening and some more sound dampening materials wouldn't go astray. The staff were bustling and there are quite a few of them. We were approached for drinks twice before we had made up our minds, and one more time before I had had the chance to read the menu. The menu is focused on burgers and tacos for food, and beer and bourbon (and Rye / Whiskey). The beer menu was extensive and rotating, and the bourbon menu also looked like an interesting collection of regional breweries. We both ordered burgers, me the 28 day dry aged steak with mushrooms and caramelized onions. This was great at first bite, but got seriously delicious when I hit a pocket of the onions with the mushrooms. The meat was cooked medium rare to perfection. My wife had the Fig burger which was also loaded with tasty and interesting cheese as well as the figs. There were plenty of vegetarian burgers as well.Everything was quick, tasty, great service. The burgers are obviously expensive by US standards, but worth it. A great choice for a tasty and satisfying treat, but nothing extra special.

I met a friend for lunch here and liked the informal style of Rustic House. Convenient location right on Main Street and around the corner from a large public parking lot, supplemental to street parking. We both had prawn and avocado salads that had a ginger flavored dressing - delicious. I ordered coffee that was full flavored, just how I like it. We shared a slice of key lime pie. I thought it was a little too dense to be rated tops, a little too rich for me to finish, but still very good.I'll return because there were some wonderful sounding sea food choices that I'd like to try next time.
