I returned to Fredrikstad again at the end of April 2014, and as always, this is the best place to watch football - multiple screens, friendly service, and access to Peppes Pizza which is part of the same complex. Was here several times, enjoying the football, pizza and beer - only one slight issue for me: being a Fredrikstad boy, I would have preferred Fredrikstad Beer to Frydenlund beer - but this is a tiny detail only!

This could be the most beautiful garden in the Old Town if they hade done a little gardening.Understand tat things are natural,but faded flowers could have been removed.Sunday at 10 o`clock we sat dovn in beautiful sun.A wet blanket gave us the frist bad impression.My wife trousers where soak wet.We went inside to order food and drinks.Sorry we have no food,the cook is on holiday one waiter explained.So we just ordered one beer and a cup of coffee.Unfortunately there was a quarter cup left but we where told that they would make more.We saw no coffee during our stay.After a while a waiter came out with two food plates,and we wonder how come?In the cafe again we asked how other guests could have food a not us. The male waiter said he had not been informed,so he had only a small piece of cake left.His college contacted him and said that they had food???!!! The responsible for this place could have made this to the best place in the Old Town,but with this kind of staff,impossible.We do not understand how many Norwegian restaurants can survive with this kind of staff!Just unbelievable.It seems that to many in this busiess are unqualified and miss the right attitude to work in these places.Verry sorry to see how a big potential is taken vare of!

Small menu and not to much thas was interesting. But this place looks more like a pub. Okey price for a normal beer, considering norwegian prices. Tried a shrimp sandwich, not good, box shrimps. However they have some local beer that was good and worth a try. Very friendly staff with good service.

Great service minded staff. Location smack on the river, close to everything, plus the free ferry to wherever practically just outside the door. Always nice âGastro pubâ kind of meals which taste lovely and is served well. Great beer selection, with a decent price level for Norway, and you also have the nice touch with free popcorn being passed around or a regular basis.A bit cold inside in some spots when it is cold outside.Hei! Just recently being aware of the place, we made a very satisfying visit. Several well balanced beers, a nice sel of meals, our choice of Fish and chips was a success. Best F-A-C Iâve ever got, beyond the British Isles! A clear aspiration for future returns!

Visited the area for a wedding and came across this lovely place when asking for directions to the train station.The service was excellent and everyone was really nice and although it was closing time they ordered pizzas for us from another place and ensured we got them. Their willingness to help went way beyond what we would normally expect and we are truly grateful.Great drinks, cozy place that made you feel at home.
