Reviews on Portuguese food in Boksburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Boksburg is a city on the East Rand of Gauteng province of South Africa. Gold was discovered in Boksburg in 1887. It was named after the State Secretary of the South African Republic, W. Eduard Bok. The Main Reef Road linked Boksburg to all the other major mining towns on the Witwatersrand and the Angelo Hotel (1887) was used as a staging post.

Peri-Peri chicken restaurant with a world famous Portuguese style menu. Visit Nandoâs in Beyers Park for a truly South African dining experience.
Always a treat to visit this Nando's! Not only is the staff friendly, store clean, food good but they always seem to have menu options that you do not get at other branches. My favourite is the spicy vegetable rice with halloumi cheese. With Nando's you cannot go wrong but more so at this store. Food is always fresh, clean and cooked well. The restaurant area is comfortable and well used. The take aways are efficient and well packed. If you want Nando's and in the Boksburg / Benoni area then I recommend this one! Often I drive past other Nando's to get food from here. Of course if you never have had Nando's then you just have not had chicken!

Adega Restaurants are upmarket Portuguese restaurants that cater for a variety of tastes and styles. The restaurants offer a warm unpretentious ambience allowing the diner to feast in true Portuguese style. We are located conveniently in shopping centres
Very very disappointed. What was once a great restaurant as been allowed to go downhill. Understaffed. Every course we tried to order was missing something. At the end of the evening tried to order cocktails and ingredients missing. Ended the evening early because we got tired of being let down. Manager wasnât bothered as he felt it was the owners fault.

Not sure what the hold ups are here... every time I get here(in the drive through) I wait at least 10 minutes to get my food. I go to the drive through because I am time restraint. Staff dealing with customers front house are very competent... speed up the service guys!!!!!!

We trust you will enjoy your meal with the same satisfaction as the age old Cristovao's Crew did all those years ago when first setting foot on the shores of Africa - Come celebrate in a true Portuguese Way!
Had by far the most horrible experience last night. Waited more than an hour for our food, only got the food after complaining twice. Food utterly disgusting, food were cold, chips oily, steak looked as if it was done in a microwave. On top of it all, owner missing in action and nowhere to be found.

BomDia is a small delicacy/coffee shop/bakery that is hidden away in a small shopping centre - Kingfisher Corner - next to the Woord en Lewe church. They have been there for a couple of years. I have always experienced good service and good food in a warm friendly environment. Their Portuguese pastries and speciality foods, (like the Dagwood), is always extremely tasty and well prepared.

Prices of the food are good, not much of a variety but options available are good. They offer live music regularly even in the week, nice as a mid week breakaway or even a social with friends on the weekend.

Well to be honest I love this place. We havenât been there in ages - we went last week. Service - excellent. Cosy and warm. Food - not so much. Having eaten seafood here before I was very excited to see Dorado on the menu. Big mistake. Dorado is a beautiful firm fish but this was so badly overlooked - a mistake was also made with the skin which if treated correctly is crunchy and delicious. Not at all impressed. Will I go back? Yes. Overall 1 bad meal does not constitute a huge boycott.

My wife and I heard about Manelito Restaurant from friends who assured us that the food was good and well worth a visit. We were not disappointed. Just to be on the safe side we had booked and, on arrival, were shown to a neat, clean table, covered with an attractive table cloth, against one of the walls. Manelitos proved to be an informal restaurant, not attempting to put on airs and graces, but providing good, wholesome, tasty food. There were dishes on the menu to suit most every taste. Fortunately no loud music was playing, and after placing our order, warm bread rolls and butter were brought to the table. After an enjoyable meal, we ordered desserts, which proved just as good and as tasty as our main dishes. The waitresses were pleasant and friendly and all-in all, we had an unexpectedly enjoyable lunch. We will definitely be visiting Manelitos again in the near future.
