You’ll find plenty of orange trees here, but the fruit known as the "Valencia orange" was actually developed in California. Travelers interested in local food should focus on paella instead. While the city contains many monuments, Valencia’s modern crown jewel is the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex of museums, cinemas, theaters, and more.

This is one of the main thoroughfares that leads into the historic old town, lined with wonderful old buldings which at one time were the houses of the city's aristocrats. These days they house a variety of shops and restaurants. Little alleyways lead off in all different directions featuring many hidden gems including churches and some fabulous street art. The end of the road opens into the wonderful open and airy Plaza de la Virgin with fountains, greenery and at times different forms of street entertainment.

A lovely old bell tower with 207-step spiral staircase inside, up to the summit with a powerful bell and great views of the city. It's definitely worth climbing up! The tickets cost virtually nothing, only 2 Euro/adult.

Plaza de la Reina is the centre of Old Town, from here you can visit the Cathedral, there are plenty of restaurants and bars where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner at any hour. Here is the starting point for shops and boutiques where you can find sales in July.
