This happens to be my local Barclays Bank, situated in South Street in Dorchester, but is also the setting for the mayors house in Thomas Hardy's book "The Mayor of Casterbridge"

Queen Mother Square

I like it. A clean open central space with decent facilities within and around it. Accusations of Poundbury being a large retirement home are questionable and if partly true, then that might account for the good manners of the pleasant inhabitants that collect there! The Garden Centre serves excellent, good value food and drinks and is well worth a visit. The service is exemplary from all the staff, both young and the more mature.
