This is where the locals eat, no nonsense pizza & pasta of all sorts . One can even get fish & chips . beside petrol station. Try liver terrine and strips of tender beef called tagliata with pasta or chips . We came here one (hot) evening just for a pizza and a drink. This pizzeria is situated outside the touristic centre of Pienza ; pizzas were really OK. Service was efficient, but not very friendly. I past a very great evening with my family in this restaurant, the food is great I never eat something good like this, and you can find a good beer and wine, the chef is very kind and professionaly.All the room are clean wonderful.

Stumbled across Piccolo Ristorante in the delightful village of Torrita di Siena. We sat in the outside garden setting with beautiful views over the Tuscan countryside. Our waitress was delightful and laughed with us over our lack of Italian. The mushroom tagliatelle was absolutely delicious, the menu choice extensive and reasonably priced. A really lovely lunch time stop.

We visit this place every year - eating pizza on the terrace overlooking Tuscany is the best feeling! The pizzas are unbelievably thin based and have beautiful toppings. Only one waitress speaks a bit of English but we muddle through with our smattering of Italian. Very popular place with the locals, which speaks volumes. Love it!

This lovely restaurant in the centre of Pienza, Italy, is a family run business and like all good family businesses Francesca, her mother, her sister and the rest of the people who work here seriously care about what they do with food and the customers they serve it to. It's a delight to eat and drink here at any time of the day from 7:30 in the morning through to late in the evening. The food is good wholesome Italian tastes that set the taste buds tingling with pizzas and pasta that are really quite remarkable. Relax outside with a glass of wine or beer in the shade of the Italian summer heat and you're in heaven. No rush, no cares, just Italy.Italy is a place where people love to pass time in light hearted chatter, a place where people find one another through talking. Walk into 'La Mensa Del Conte' and you walk into the real Italy where, even having limited knowledge of Italian is no barrier to great communication. It's a fun place, full of people wearing big smiles who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive to the very last goodbye.Ciao, Francesca and La Mensa Del Conte. Because it's good, it's busy, usually with locals, which is always a good sign. Daniel is a friendly English speaking manager, his partner is a wonderful cook. My wife says the Picci with beef Ragu is the best she's ever had and we've been going to Italy for 10 years. The Steaks are wonderfull in fact we've never had a bad meal yet and we've eaten there often. I've never tried one but the Pizzas look fantastic too. The name if the place is Il Botteghino so there may be another page elsewhere. We eat here at least twice a year.

For local food at a good price this takes some beating .Generous portions but no compromise on quality .Excellent value house wines and a good selection of traditional dishes .We both enjoyed anti pasti followed by grilled lamb with mint . Nicely set tables and a welcoming appearance attracted us to stop at this restaurant for lunch. The menu is simple and quite basic, the waitstaff friendly. Don't expect too much and you will enjoy it.
