Hostal Maintencillo is a cosy house on the cliff top facing the Pacific Ocean. It has amazing views! The owners Veronica and Clemente are sweethearts and welcome everybody in such a way that make us feel at home. There are only 2 suites with private toilet and another 6 rooms with shared toilet. Breakfast is served until 11am and is simple but nicely done. The highlight here is definitely the breathtaking views!

Though it's a bit of a walk out of town we really liked this place and ended up staying a week. We got a private room to ourselves for cheap in comparison to other hostels in town. The bathrooms were really clean, the beds comfortable and enough blankets to keep us warm. The new people who run it are delightful, so sweet and eager to help any way they can. There were only 2 issues when we were there, the internet stopped working so they did a temporary fix with one of those stick internets until they could get the modem up and running again (not sure if they've done it yet or not). And the hot water was really hot but when it was windy the pilot light that heated the water blew out and you needed to start the shower several times before it would come back. Again they're eager to fix the problems and I'm sure they'll do well!

The hostel is as described and recommended. It is clean and nice. Also the location of the hostel is perfect. Near the bus stations (we would recommend the company Bus Sur) and the sea. Punta Arenas is a great place to start exploring Patagonia.

Great hostel, is managed by just one really nice lady. The clean the rooms every day except on saturdays. We didn't experiencie any problem and is true that to get to the downtown you have to walk like 7 minutes but is a short trip and allow you to rest as downtown is always so crowded and there is always a party going on. Miss Maria the lady that manages the hostel is the front desk, maid, cook and so on, They only accept cash!

Hostal San Martin it's a good place to be if you are passing by Concépcion. The staff is gentle and the place it's simple. It offers an average breakfast and rooms with cable tv, internet access and private bathrooms. It's also clean and very quiet at night, which helps you to take a nice rest. I was there with friends stopping by while travelling to south of Chile. The city doesn't have many attractions and things to do but our stay at Hostal San Martin was ok.

We really enjoyed our stay. Mr. Richard is a gracious and helpful host in English, Spanish and French. His homemade bread, jam and yogurt are to die for. Among other things, he helped us find dental treatment for my wife. The location is adjacent to Gabriella Mistral birthplace and museum. There is a wonderful restaurant, Rais, across from the museum entrance. Vicuña is the gateway to the mystical and magical Elqui Valley. It is very scenic during the day, and the stargazing is fabulous at night.

I was in Santiago with a coworker for a visit in a local university. We chose this place mainly due to the location. The area is nice, is in a fancy neighborhood but there is no much going on around (no much bars, restaurants etc,) There are only few restaurants and two shopping malls. Although there is a nice park and the metro stop is very close, it leads you to the city center in around 30 minutes. In general ou stay was fine saving some few issues. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very poor and insufficient, low nutrition and very unhealthy, I usually needed to buy something else. The room was also very warm, there was no window and noisy. But considering the price, it was ok.
