It is located near the mouth of the River Nith into the Solway Firth. Dumfries is the traditional county town of the historic county of Dumfriesshire. Dumfries is nicknamed Queen of the South. People from Dumfries are known colloquially as Doonhamers.

I have drove along this route many times and never get tired of the beautiful views. If you like the route 500 then you need to do this route too. Its a must!

Visited here today, two family’s 4 adults and 4 children in total. I travelled from Cockermouth and would do it all over again!! It’s worth the travel and we will be going back. It’s amazingly clean and the staff are amazing (there are lots of them) but they are busy keeping everyone happy and the place spotless. All the doors are secure and alarmed so little ones can’t get out of the indoor area. So there is a huge indoor play area (soft play) and a cafe which is reasonably priced and tasty. Also a huge area with ride along tractors and little tike cars. Outside there is a park, huge bouncy castle inflatable, go kart track, mini golf, trampolines, sand area and a huge track for family go karts to go right round the farm park. Plus a water fight area. The water boats are £2 and the electric motorbikes that are on a track outside and inside take £1 coins. Water bombs are 50p but apart from that everything is included in the price. We were there all day and left at 4.30 We will be returning I would rather travel the extra 30 mins from Carlisle and go here instead of Walby.

We did the longest trail which was a very varied walk. We got absolutely drenched in a downpour about 1/3 of the way round and didn't see anyone for most of the remainder of our walk. It's a nice place to visit for a walk.

The course is maintained to high standards and is situated in a delightful, picturesque setting on the edge of Dumfries in Southern Scotland. Memberships are currently available, and visitors are welcome throughout the week and weekends. All can look forward to an excellent round, followed by some of our renowned catering and welcoming hospitality. Visitors to 'the Galloway' will not be disappointed.

I played here yesterday with a friend on a beautiful summers day. A light wind blowing. Arrive at the very well appointed clubhouse which has excellent facilities. Easy check in with the friendly starter. Noted well stocked but small pro shop. The course was in superb condition all round. Extremely well kept. Holes were quite challenging. The signature hole is well with highlighting too. If you love links golf you’re in heaven here. Our match was like the Duel in the Sun between Nicklaus and Watson. I went 3 down twice but pulled it back to all square after 17. A half on the 18th ended it. A truly awesome game here today. Had a meal in the restaurant. Very well priced and excellent quality. Well stocked bar and friendly staff. All in I highly rate a visit here.
