I stayed here two nights. I decided on this hotel because it was near the fish market where I wanted to gorge on seafood at, because it was a short walk from Aomori station, and because it had its own onsen. The hotel is pretty old but the room was still in a good state. It was quite a big room for Japan. The highlight was the onsen, which, though open to the public, was big enough - with both outdoor and indoor baths - that it didn’t feel crowded. I had breakfast both days and it was just okay - a moderate selection with slight variation from day to day. The “restaurant” was more like a canteen so it wasn’t very charming. The whole key fob system was also confusing and a pain (coz I kept forgetting it): along with the door key, you get a fob that’ll let you access both the onsen and the breakfast canteen.

An old, traditional onsen hidden away on top of the mountains, we drove in the dark and it was snowing when we arrived, but the rooms and bedding were very warm. Doors and partitions are thin so be sure to keep quiet at night. Onsen was old and rustic but quite comfortable, had a strong mineral smell - don't forget to check out the secret underground spring hidden behind a door, you have to go down some slippery steps! Dinner and breakfast were both very filling and lovely.

Our family (2yrs to 70yrs year old) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Super sincere staff, delicious food and well planned customised itinerary, made this the best family trip we’ve been. The suite had a great view and to top it off, there is a private onsen. Ski, eat & soak everyday- cannot get any better! Special shout out to Kenji San & Daisuke San, who made the experience memorable. We will be back soon

Our first experience of Japan- it was a baptism of fire! Sleeping on tatami mats, bento boxes of sushi and sashimi for breakfast as well as dinner, a lot of green tea and almost no coffee! The staff were kind, although we did struggle to communicate! Google translate was fab! Well worth downloading the app before you leave. The rooms were comfortable. Air conditioning didn’t work so well, some did smell bad as they are often smoked in. Good idea to request non smoking rooms Try the traditional Japanese onsen they have there. It’s fun, with a lovely view- if a little of a culture shock...... all will be revealed if you go;) Don’t expect coffee, western food of any description, any deviation from the menu plan, no gym. There are also no local shops- do expect real Japanese hotel experience, kind and respectful staff, beautiful view of the coast/ Tsugaru strait, reasonable prices.

Location is convenient for transport and to eating places. The outdoor onsen although small, has a nice view of the mountains. Breakfast is good. Japanese style room is spacious and comfortable. Service is ok.

Many waterfalls dot the 14-kilometer trail linking this resort to scenic Lake Towada. Enjoy the area's natural beauty while soaking in the inn's luxurious baths, too.
Summary: - Great experience overall near Oirase Keiryu. - Don't make the same mistake as we did. Spend a few extra thousand yen ($20 or so USD) for a "Modern" room or a Japanese-style room. Avoid the "Twin Room." If possible, ask for a room at the new East Wing. - If you don't mind bees, don't be afraid of using the apple-scented shampoo and then go to the outdoor onsen. Location: 5 stars Staff: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Breakfast: 5 stars Lounges: 5 stars Room: 3 stars (for the price compared to other rooms in the hotel) We had a wonderful stay. Everything about this hotel was perfect and just what you would expect from Hoshino. The lobby is modern and stylish, the food was beyond amazing, and the service was just excellent. The only exception was the Twin Room that we chose. The room we stayed at was located at the West Wing, which is much older than the new East Wing. The room was clean, but due to its age, I felt like I stayed at a history museum that showcased 5-star hotel rooms from the 70s. The furniture was a little worn out. There was no central air conditioning (or an AC with remote control); instead, you need to use the old machine that hid in the corner, which comes with a dial. I remember the last time I saw one of those was at a motel room in Arizona in the 90s. You need to walk to the machine and manually turn the dial every time you want to change the settings. You could also tell how old the room was by its smell. Thoughtfully, they provided a bottle of deodorizing spray. I expected the room to be a lot nicer for its $500 USD price tag. But I'm the one to blame as I didn't opt for the "Modern Room" nor one of the Japanese-style rooms. If I go back in the future, I will definitely pay $20 more for a newer room. I just didn't expect the room could be THAT old. That was the only complaint during the stay. Everything else was perfect. The apple scented shampoo smelled so good that it attracted a few bees when I went to the outdoor onsen. So I would recommend using the regular shampoo, and only use the delicious smelling apple shampoo after you're done with the outdoor onsen. They also have free rental boots that were perfect for the hike along the river. The trails could be muddy, so make sure you pick up a pair before heading out. Overall, we had a great time. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The free shuttle for the hiking trail was excellent with hourly departures. Also the 12pm checkout time worked really well for the morning hike after breakfast. I will stay here again if I visit again, but at a different room for sure.

近くまで行って温泉という表記を見て立ち寄りましたが、温泉として営業していない様子でした お城のような施設などが点在していますが、ひと気はなく大型のダンプが出入りしていました 以前は営業していたけど廃業した感じです
