Discover Restaurants offering the best Northern-Italian food in Lake Maggiore, Piedmont, Italy. On the south side of the Alps, Lake Maggiore is the second largest lake in Italy. Since the climate is mild year-round, the area is filled with Mediterranean vegetation and exotic plants. Lake Maggiore was featured in Ernest Hemingway's infamous novel, A Farewell to Arms, when the protagonist and his lover must row across the lake in order to escape the Italian Carabinieri (think police in military uniforms). Here's hoping you won't have any run-ins of that nature.

Having read the trip advisor reviews we were a little hesitant about going here. However I can totally recommend. We had the smoked salmon starter to share and then the veal chop which was cooked to perfection. Staff are friendly, the restaurant is buzzing and a nice change from the tourist menus. We had wine by the carafe which was great value.

A beautifull place in the middle of Isola Pescatori. In a warm atmosphere, you can enjoy our specialties: Fresh fish from our Lake, pasta, pizzas, fresh appetizers, salads and home made desserts. All come with home made bread and good wines from Italy and
We've been to this restaurant for lunch several times over the years and it's always been excellent, this time no exception. You can sit outside with lovely lake views, we prefer the cool of inside where the decor is authentic trattoria style. Food and wine excellent and prices reasonable, especially the fixed price lunch menu. The owner/chef Luca is very friendly as are the staff, who mostly seem to be family members including Luca's lovely dad.

Nice place, friendly service (the waiter explained the dishes in both Italian and English), The food choices are interesting and somehow original. The food is delicious and nicely presented. Not cheap but reasonably priced.

I've been here with my gf. We had a menu with one entry, a pasta duet to (two types of pasta in a dish) and a main course to choose fish of meat, coffee and dessert and wine (bottle) included for 30⬠each. Everything was local and fresh, not particularly tasty, but it's because the ingredients do not help, for example the fish, pike perch, it doesn't have an intense flavour. Nice restaurant, to visit.

We climbed Monte Carza near Lago Maggiore in the morning up a pretty path and then went looking for lunch but expected that we would have to return down the mountain for food. We decided to drive gingerly along some more windy mountain road just in case we found a cafe. Instead we found an excellent family restaurant serving traditional Italian country food. It has only recently reopened after a fire which destroyed it. The local community arranged to rebuild it and now it has started operating as a full restaurant which is family friendly. Indeed they are building an adventure playground. They offer a fixed menu with an ante pasta of local ham and a choice of pasta (I had the homemade pesto sauce) and a choice of a salad or a tasty slow cooked venison dish. All excellent. And a truly delicious chocolate tart with lovely homemade pannetone with coffee. The staff were really friendly and explained in good English what all the dishes were and how they were finishing the restaurant. We will return. Thank you for this beautiful review! So happy you came by and looking forward to meeting you again anytime soon.

the large-scale retail trade for the attentionto quality and innovation, rather than to the brand or the fashions, Eros transformed his shop into areal amplified space constantly looking for new flavors, renewing and enlarging it with the creationof a mat
We found this place by chance when walking around the town. Got served by the owner who was very friendly. We took meat and cheese platter - selection of local products. Everything we tried has been delicious. Very enjoyable experience. You can also find other options in the menu, including warm sandwiches. Prices are rather high but it is worth paying here a visit, at least once during your stay.

Thanks to TA we were lucky enough to test this place. This is typically a restaurant I would never have been to from just looking at it from outside. It is very basic and offers simple dishes but they're all made with fresh ingredients. This is probably how it would taste if you were invited to some locals family dinner. Plus service is excellent and extremely friendly. Prices are unbeatable. It is certainly off the beaten track but this is probably where the locals come for a meal. It's definitely worth the detour.

If you are travelling near Milan, you can easily find this restraunt. The choice of plates is not so big, but the speciality of this place is risotto. You can try tris of risotti, or choose only one. I have tried risotto with porcini mushrooms, it was good, but i did not like that they added the oil with taste of truffel. It gives to risotto a different taste. The rest of food is good, company style. The plates are enormous.
