This beautiful restaurant is just a short walk from the town of Imlil up into a gorgeous village with views over the valleys and snow capped mountains in the distance (including Mt. Toubkal). I've visited Morocco twice now and both times I've made sure to come to this restaurant (I'm a chef in the UK) the food is absolutely delicious. It's Moroccan food just as you'd dreamt it would be, fresh, seasonal and cooked with love! The welcome you receive from the moment you walk through the door is exceptional & you soon feel like part of the family. My only advice other than to go there to eat as soon as you can is to book to stay a night or two, so that you can wake up to Berber tea, fresh pancakes & the sound of the mosques echoing through the Valleys. What are you waiting for, go!!

We stayed here from January 1-3rd and it was truly magical. The guest house is welcoming, warm and colourful with hearty fresh food and delicious tea. However we observed several guests have dangerous experiences while treking and on a mountgain bike ride. Both did not use the qualified guide at Douar Samra. Safety measures need to be improved here and within the Imlil tourist community as the terrain is stunning but harsh and accidents/incidents are happening, and going unreported.

Whilst staying in the hotel, they offered a three-course dinner each evening for 5 euro per person in the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared each day with fruit and veg from the market, and filling enough to refuel after a long day's hike. The service was friendly and helpful, and able to speak a number of languages. The restaurant was filled with other hikers, and great for exchanging stories and routes you had seen during the day.
Fascinating three course lunch in a Berber home. The dining area is decorated to entice tourists but otherwise it is where the guy seems to live. Very relaxing couple of hours spent in here sheltering from the heat outside. Quality was better than I expected based on our approach to the property.

Great views and ambience, and friendly staff. The food was good - we had a meatball tagine. Since we stayed in a partner hotel in Imlil we got the resident lunch price, and still the price was rather high relative to Imlil standards.
