We visited the Al Mandi Al Dhahabi for a late (maybe too late) lunch after visiting Nizwa Fort. We were hungry and therefore not that much motivated to look for better alternatives. We ordered a plate with Omani rice, tuna fish and some meat (I forgot if it was lamb or goat). In addition we had some salad and yoghurt to complete the Omani meal. The food was not too bad but it has been prepared in advance and therefore the fish was much too dry. Taking the low price into consideration it was just acceptable but not more.

Supposedly one of the best Omani restaurants in Nizwa. I wouldnât go that far, but definitely one of the better ones. Omani style family rooms with floor seating instead of tables and chairs. Extensive menu of the usual Omani / Arab dishes. Fair prices, good service. Try one of the set menus to get a good sample of everything.Other branches in Salalah and Ruwi/Muscat.

I went to this restaurant in August, 2017 with my friend for lunch. We were greeted by some humble guys without any smile. We were surprised to see the seating arrangement in the restaurant.A restaurant staff guided us to a well spaced compartment with a seating arrangement for 4-6 people.( I am not sure if they have bigger compartments also)This was a bit different from what we see in most of the restaurants in Oman.Service was good. They gave time to decide our order. Once we ordered the starters and main course was served with suitable gap. They also have a call button inside the compartment which you can use in case you want something. (This was not told to us by the staff. We guessed it and used.)The food was good. We ordered Indian food which was having good authentic Indian taste. We liked the food.It is a mid range priced restaurant. The only things which i noticed for improvement are as follows-1. The smell of food, specially fish and sizzlers travel to other compartments. They should have some arrangement to extract the food smell of such kind to avoid inconvenience to other costumers.2. They do not have the wireless card swipe machine. so you have to go all the way to counter to enter your pin, in case you prefer to pay by card.

We struggled to find this restaurant which had been recommended to us by people in Muscat. It's new and we were directed to various different places by locals either because they did not understand us or did not know it. It was worth the walk though. I had the best date juice I've ever had. The service was a bit wild as they didn't have a lot of waiters but it was charming and willing. We sat outside in a kind of tented table area for 4. It was a bit chilly but there is indoor seating too. The menu was short and very good value. Cash only. I had a plate of falafel, hummus etc.
Restaurant specializes in grilled and preparation of Seafood and fresh omani Fish of various kind such as tuna, hamur, squid, labaster and dishes from local Fish
We went twice to this small restaurant by the goat souk in Nizwa. They cook to order fish you choose from an ice fish counter. We had red snapper, tuna, prawns and some other whole fish whose name I can't remember. Friendly service. Bread, chips, salads, hummus all available as accompaniments. Delicious and such great value - it cost less than £20 for the both of us and that is with a lot of food. If you love fish this is a definite must.Thank you for visiting our restaurant

At first we sat inside all by ourselves in a room that lacked atmosphere. We found out that they also had a terrace. It's situated along a busy road, but it's a little bit better than the dining room inside. The food was well seasoned and well prepared. We especially liked the yoghurt salad. Staff is not very friendly or attentive. They do as little as possible. Prices are low.

Considering that you are paying a handsome penny for this restaurant, the food and service should be at a very high quality. Unfortunately it's not, however the staff did try their best to make up at the end and accommodated us. Hence we did not provide a lower ratingDear ARL_Travelers,Thank you very much for visiting Al Qalaa and for sharing your review on TripAdvisor. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your dining experience . Next door to the Tanuf Residency.
Neighborhood restaurant w friendly staff. Both indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered a Turkish mixed grill (3rials - which comes with 4 sticks of meat, a plate of 4 dips, and 2 large pita bread), a small Olive salad (. 8rials - which is basically tabuleh w green olives), a hawda bread (. 8 rials - a boat shade bread w veggies and cheese inside), and 2 guava juice (. 6rials each). The meat was tasty and juicy. The bread fresh and yummy. Just the mixed grill alone would have been enough for the 2 of us. But with everything so tasty, we stuffed ourselves. It was great food, all for 5.8 rials.
