Things to do in Newberg
We stopped in at La Sierra for a late lunch. The place was practically empty. Our food was fair--everything tasted the same. Service was less than fair. Our meals took almost forever and getting our tab was difficult. I could understand if they were busy but they were not. We were not impressed.

Great Mexican food with great menu selection gluten free options kids are welcome great atmosphere Good for the whole family lots of parking space.
Was tempted to give this place four "balls" for the copious quantity and low price of the food served, but the food itself was, well, somewhat curious. We ordered one of the combination platters with a chile relleno and chile verde burrito. The burrito was huge and tasted okay, but we could never quite determine if the meat was pork (which is what it should have been) or beef (it looked and tasted a lot more like beef). The relleno was good on the inside the pepper and cheese part, but the batter was really odd, almost like someone made an omelette and just laid it on top of the cheese-stuffed pepper - really rather weird. Service was fairly good.

This place needs to train their or hire new managers this place was a cluster F tonight and there was no reason for it, it takes 20 minutes for our order? We would not be back until they figure it out very pathetic

Just decided to stop for dinner. The food was very good. We had the Chili Rellono, Super Burrito and a taco salad. My wife loves Chili Rellonos and gave it an 8. Burrito was huge and tasty, the salad was a little small, but crisp and loaded with meat. All was surprisingly fresh. The staff is very friendly. Definitely adding this to our list of places for when we don't want to cook.

Lago De Chapala used to be very good. We had not eaten there in about a year and happened to go in last night for a meal. The service was good, but the food....ugh! Runny, really watery salsa with the chips, and even though the plates were sizzling hot when they arrived at our table, the food on them was barely warm. If it wasn't for the hot plate, the food would have been cold. Everyone in our party had the same experience and remarked how BLAND the food was. The cooks at the place need to start tasting their food. We probably won't be back. You can get tastier, hot food at the Muchas Gracias restaurant across the street.
I like this place, it's been around for a while, and the food is good. I usually get the carne asada tacos, and haven't been disappointed yet. Keep in mind though, it is a food cart. You're not going to get chips and salsa, you're not going to get rice and beans on the side. If you order tacos, you'll get tacos. The food is authentic and if that's what you want, you'll love it. They have a little bit of seating if you want to eat there, but we usually get it to go.

The best tortilla soup; full of veggies and lots of chicken. Also had the lengua tacos, which was perfectly prepared (not rubbery) and accompanied with spicy salsas. Fresh ingredients appreciated! It's a "truck" but there's outdoor seating if you are brave enough to weather a chill. Great place for a casual lunch bite!

My friends considered this the best mexican food in Newberg -- I hope not.Everyone was very friendly and inviting to everyone who walked in the door. I ordered the lunch version of the chicken/cheese quesadilla; decent plate-sized portion with generous amounts of chicken, but it was too salty to enjoy fully. The margarita I ordered, served in the ubiquitous cactus-stemmed glass, tasted like weak limeade -- I thinik the shot of tequila missed the glass...The chips are the saving grace of this place; served hot, toasted to perfection, and not greasy. My friends raved about the salsa, but I found this disappointing also. Some chuncks of diced tomotato and onion swimming in what seemed more like tomatio juice than salsa. To sum up:- Warm, inviting restaurant staff- Tasty chips- large portions of so-so food- pass on the margaritas

You will find delicious food and a terrific bakery here. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The food delicious! We recommend the burritos! A family friendly place with a nice little patio outback makes this one of our go to places for local food. The macaroons are delicious for an after dinner treat and the selection of beers and sodas is appreciated!
