We've been to this Carbondale location many times over the years. Usually I ask to replace meat by beans and in all Taco Bells around the country everyone knows what to do without additional questions. This Taco Bell is not exception. It is clean, conveniently located off the main road in Carbondale - open late, sometimes all surrounding places are closed but this place is still open. A good place.
Casa Vieja has inhabited an old used car dealership. Their food is o.k minus the stale chips. We had issues with communicating with the staff due to a language barrier, the incorrect food was delivered after a lengthy wait, we were charged incorrectly, the bathrooms need cleaned and their HVAC is not effective at cooling.
People who are burned out on the same tired taco and burrito menu in the local Tex-Mex cafe will be amazed by this authentic Latin-american restaurant. They bring the flavors and textures of true Hispanic dining to Southern Illinois. Many thanks to the lovely Laura and her enthusiastic staff. We will definitely be back often.

La Fiesta offers a pretty traditional menu when it comes to your average Mexican restaurant. Nothing really stands out as exceptional but the food usually tastes pretty good. That said, the salsa is typically heavy on the tomato and a bit too runny. In my opinion, a bit of cilantro would help out quite a bit.The service is efficient enough and everyone is polite but not overly friendly if you're not a regular. Personally, I think there are better alternatives in Marion but we stop in every once in a while to mix things up.

My husband and I recently met here for lunch. It was such a disappointment. It was not very busy yet it seemed to take forever for a server to come and take our order. We each ordered off the lunch menu. My husband ordered a Chalupa and I ordered a Beef Burrito. Our meals came and they were completely covered in shredded lettuce. There was so much lettuce that we could not even tell what was underneath it all. It was ridiculous. After removing our piles of lettuce we began to eat our meal. Both meals came with rice, refried beans and lettuce, did I mention the lettuce? My husband said his Chalupa was okay. My Beef Burrito was bland and tasteless. It was filled with ground beef that had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. I think it was one of the worst Mexican meals I have ever had. The rice and beans were standard fare for a Mexican restaurant. Nothing special about them. It took forever for the server to bring our check. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will not be eating here again.

My first experience here was absolutely terrible - primarily due to poor service. I've been back twice since then, and it has been excellent both times. The food is great here, the service has been great the last 2 times, and a giant Dos Equis (32 or 36 oz I think) is only $5.75! You're going to have leftovers, and the prices are reasonable.

We dined in at the Herrin Taco Bell on Saturday around 1:30 pm. We had a hard time finding a clean table; and there was a huge fly problem. Where we finally ended up sitting was by the front window in the corner. There must have been at least 6 flies that we had to keep swatting away. This is a relatively new Taco Bell, but it definitely has some cleanliness issues.

We took our family to El Jalisco Saturday mid afternoon for a late lunch. Everyone's entrees were wonderful! We also ordered a pitcher of margaritas, which was very good! Besides the wonderful food, the service was outstanding! Our waiter was always there with extra salsa, warm chips, and drink refills. The entrees were so substantial that 4 of the 6 of us had to get take out boxes for the leftovers. We will definitely be going to this restaurant again and trying more of the menu items!
