We went and ordered 3 of the 12 taco boxes and some other things to take to family awaiting a new baby. We were impressed with how quickly the food was made but the Doritos Locos taco shell didn't taste like what I'd had at other Taco Bells.

We were one party of only 3 in the restaurant, however, the service was very poor. Greeters were rude..."Do ya'll want something?"..uh yeah, we want to eat! Seated next to huge tv with football roaring (beside another group) even though the rest of the area was empty. Waitress asked 3 times in less than 5 minutes what we wanted to order (never been there before, takes a few minutes to read the menu!)Food was excellent! Not the style of Mexican food we are most familiar with, but was all very good. Tasted great and was arranged attractively on the serving dishes.Waitress did not return until she brought the check. I had to get up with my water glass and take it to the bar to ask for more water. So..5 on the food, 1-2 on service and atmosphere which is why they got the 3 rating.
Quesadillas and pork tamales were awesome. Beans are good. It's tucked away in a strip mall so easy to miss. I have only gotten take out but they do have in house dining. They do take credit cards. I haven't been for a while, just thinking about it makes me want to go today. This is authentic so be prepared for a little spice.
I don't know what they do differently but have a great and unique flavor in their tacos. Beans and rice are good too.

My parents live in Durant and can't say enough about this place. It lived up to the hype. Great service - the girls are quick and accurate. The food was accurate and delicious. The prices were reasonable. I would come here again. I ordered several things ala carte due to some medical restrictions - my family ordered the three combo plate, special burrito, and enchiladas. All was good.

We ate hear after several people told us it was good Mexican food. While the service was good, the chips tasted old, the salsa was void of any real flavor and the enchiladas were subpar as compared to Mexican food I've eaten at other restaurants in Durant. I'd skip it if I were you

This place was recommended by family and it was the best Mexican food in the area. They have a plate of fajitas that has bacon, mushrooms and cheese on on top. We like our onions very well done and most places will not cook them that well done, they did here and it was excellent! They also have vegetable fajitas, we did not try but family said they were very good. We highly recommend this restaurant

I have reviewed Villegas in the past and gave it excellent ratings. Back then it had quaint, authentic Mexican charm and was primarily a grocery and meat store that served outstanding Mexican cuisine to the lucky few who could crowd in and share tables. The restaurant outgrew the store so they remodeled and everything went south. Plenty of room now, but who cares. Food is still good but nothing outstanding. The ambiance is all but gone. We now go to the barbeque place downtown when in Durant.
