Mexican food just tastes better when your server speaks only a little English! Stopped in here for lunch. Amazing food! Fast friendly service. Country Enchiladas were excellent. My wife had the buffet. Many choices. Food was fresh and delicious. Very reasonable price. Eat here. You will NOT be sorry.

Service is friendly and fast but overall they need more turnover and more that is seen as SPECIAL either as service, condiments, dishes .. It is a "Franchise" of a well known Harlingen location which is known for their authentic and quick, easy service, making it upscale hurts! Not even Nachos and Salsa are provided for free ..

Walked in to a beautiful foyer with a nice elegant feel about the restaurant.I was quickly and very pleasantly greeted by Ashley. As I understand she has only been here a few weeks, but I was very impressed with her knowledge of the menu, which complimented her people skills.Excellent in this role, and a keeper she is.Now up steps a friendly man, Adolfo, who will be my waiter today.I came here because I found out, while in Miami last year, that I love Latin cuisine. The problem is that I simply don't search out restaurants like these enough.Today was a good day!I found Los Camperos which has a very intriguing menu. But with that menu I ended up with a ton of questions and comments because so much of it sounded good. After patiently answering all those questions, Adolfo suggested I take a look at the Buffet.Once I did, and could not believe the wonderfully presented dishes there, it was obvious, the buffet it would be.I tried at least 6 different side dishes and 3 of the main courses. Chicken cooked 2 different ways, and the Finger Ribs. There is nothing slack here. The food is very tasty, and unlike some buffets, none of it was dried out, it was all warm as it should be, and plentiful.I wish I was more schooled and skilled at the spices that flavor the foods, I would share it with you. But all I know is my taste buds were more than satisfied and my interest in Latin food has only increased.Thank you Adolfo for the help you gave me and the suggestions you made.I appreciate you and Los Camperos.Yes! Today was a good day.:-)

This gem is located just NE of the intersection of N Central Ave and E 14st street just outside the Brownsville Airport. The prices are very low, portions huge, lots of Mexican families here , the salsa and guacamole are to die for and all the platters ar
Four of us ordered the platter for three and it was enough for six. It was good. I really liked the nachos that were just chips, cheese, beef and fresh avocados. Good service, low-key environment. Great prices.

If you pass by this place and your hungry you are missing out. Absolutely authentic Mexican restaurant to the point of no menus in English. Our waitress was a blessing. She brought a sample of each meat to try to see what we liked best. I had the special and my wife had the Mexican plate. More food than you can eat with soup to start and flan or cake for dessert. All for under $20 for 2 of us. Stop by when you are in town, you won't be disappointed.

Since the owners are from Veracruz Mexico you canbe sure that you get quite authentic Mexican food. We were 6 people and ordered Tacos, Enchiladas, Milanesa, Steak Tampiqueño and a Salad. Everything was good and well prepared. The restaurant was full of Mexicans. Friendly service. Moderate prices. You can buy fresh baked pastry to take home.

This place has really good taco's and beans. And if you're eating local, that's what you're looking for. They're small taco's so you will probably want to order six, trust me. They have bisteak (beef), tripas (cow intestine), asado (pork) and a few others options. Good quick, tasty, inexpensive meal.

Our team enjoyed a hearty lunch in this nicely decorated restaurant. Big warrior like statues, skeletons (a la day of the dead theme), paintings and Mexican decor surrounded us as we dined at a large wooden table.Meat dishes dominated the menu and many of us chose fajitas, arachera mi pueblito, etc. my chicken fajitas were plentiful and flavorful but my co-worker found the arachera to be a bit too tough, most likely the cut of meat.I tried the nopales (cactus) for the first time and wasnât sure what to expect. It had a firm texture reminding me of a thicker bell pepper but taste did not match anything Iâve eaten in the past. I ended up slicing it into thin strips and adding them to my fajitas.Overall good setting, service but mixed bag on the food.

This is probably the best taco restaurant in the Rio Grande Valley. Their flautas, tostadas and beans are also great. Their crunchy tripa tacos are so good they've been voted the best tacos in the Rio Grande Valley several times. They have a medium dining room and a patio. This place is usually crowded since late in the morning until closing. It is not unusual to have a short wait to be seated. If you are in Brownsville, this is a place you should not miss!
