Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

Known as "the athlete's mountain," expert skiers flock to its challenging slopes.
We came in for lunch once we got off the plane & had champagne, truffle fries and burgers! It was the perfect toast to an amazing stay! The menu was very accommodating to all diets! We also had the French onion soup and burrata salad! Yum!! The staff was quick and accommodating to any request. We sat outside where the skiers came off the mountain so it was great people watching. It was also dog friendly which was so nice to see also! We where hoping our flight was going to be canceled so we could attend the dinner and movie night- truffled popcorn was served!!! Can’t wait to return and enjoy more great food & people watching!

This paved 7.5-mile path for walkers, bikers and skaters leads from Boulder proper into the mountains, winding its way along Boulder Creek, a large park and a playground.
Driving near by won't do any justice to the experience you'll be missing. A beautiful stroll takes less than 40 minutes. Start at the east end, near the CU campus, wind through downtown, and end up at the park on the west end (which is perfect for dipping your toes in the water, sun bathing or having a picnic. Continue further, where the picturesque bridges and wild flora give way to increasingly steep rock croppings and Boulder Falls.

We took an evening stroll and it was beautiful with the Christmas lights twinkling and water glistening. Not too crowded, but just right.

We walk this trail regularly. We always let our dogs of the leash to chase the prairie dogs when no one was around but our new puppy caught one. Very sad for me. So that won't happen again. I am glad that new trees are growing. I think they need to buy more tiny trees and put them in. I will volunteer to lead a group.

If you happen to be in Colorado Springs during Labor Day weekend - this a must do free event. But be prepare to get up early and find parking or hire a Uber driver. We also took bag chair instead of a blanket since the grass was still wet. Also bring a breakfast picnic. There are several food vendors but the line were very long as well as the line to the bathrooms!
