Food is great, nice location, good service, not very expensive. Nothing more to add. Will be back again. Kids love it.

At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We donât do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. Weâre all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food.Zizzi Port Solent is located on the boardw
Don't know why this place is so busy because the food was mildly 'acceptable' .... bland, flavorless, badly presented. If we weren't so hungry, we would've sent it back. Wait staff is busy running around ... not checking on whether or not you are satisfied or need anything else. We won't be back.

We have been to many different Carluccios (gutted that there isn't one closer to home as I really enjoy their food!) so when visiting Portsmouth for the weekend, we were excited to find one in Gunwharf Quay and popped in for dinner. We hadn't reserved a table however the gentleman that greeted us - I can only assume he was the duty manager or something as he was brilliant, shaved head on the sides and longer hair on the top and to the front - found us one and invited us to have a drink at the bar whilst waiting for the table. We were seated within five minutes and the same gentleman came back to show us to our seats, talk us through the menus and introduce us to our waiter for the evening. Whilst seated at the bar, we also saw him walked up to a number of parties who were standing up to leave, to check they were happy with their meals and with the services they had received. It is this kind of service that you just don't normally get in your average high street chain and is more akin to a michelin starred restaurant.Despite the restaurant being really busy (every table was full), our order was taken really quickly. We ordered everything at once (didn't have a starter as we were starving!) and the food arrived within fifteen minutes of ordering. The food itself was really tasty (as you would expect from a Carluccios) and we left full and very happy. This restaurant was definitely a cut above the rest of the Carluccios we have previously visited based on its service and the whole experience. Highly, highly recommended if shopping in Portsmouth or for a special occasion - it feels a lot more expensive than it is!Good morning Flick,I was delighted to read your wonderful review of your recent visit to us. How lovely to know that even when we are busy we are able to deliver outstanding customer service. We really hope you will come back to visit us again soon (perhaps to try our Christmas menu!).Kind regardsNicola InghamAssistant General Manager

Our 3rd visit in 18 months. As before, a thoroughly enjoyable lunch with superb food and good service.Perfect Minestrone, garlic bread and pizzas. Huge portions, well-cooked, hot and looked great on the plate. My mushroom/onion/peppers pizza was as good as it gets.Friendly efficient service throughout.Comfy seats and spacious.Unless you want a window table, or are a large group, probably no need to book apart from peak evenings. It deserves to be full though. On road parking nearby, level access.Love it.

Having been to frankie & bennys a lot of times including breakfast and always been happy with our visit. The restaurant is nice and reasonably priced and conveniently located for a cinema/dinner trip. However on our most recent visit I walked into the restaurant slightly ahead of my boyfriend by around 2 minutes and was completely ignored and look past by the immediate front desk staff who literally stared through me as if I didnât exist. When my boyfriend then walked in they straight away greeted him and asked him if he would like a table, again ignoring me completely. Couldnât help being hugely offended and the apparent situation but we continued regardless. Breakfast was good as usual and well priced, also included taste card which saved us some money. The only downside except for the greeting was that one glass of orange juice cost £3.39 which is just extortionate! Itâs a half pint of orange juice (not fresh) and is mostly watered down with ice so I really canât see why this price is justified.

Bringing Authentic Italian Pizza to the heart of Southsea
Lunchtime deal: £6 for a burger, chips and a coke. Sounds pretty good! But wait...Wait while the waitress finishes chatting to the bloke at the bar. But eventually she manages to grab a moment to serve me. Oh, the bloke at the bar might have been the chef...He disappears into the kitchen to heat up a burger that may have been drying out overnight to his perfection, or might have just been waiting under the grill for me to arrive. It eventually appears in front of me on the obligatory artisan slab of slate, with a little mound of lettuce artistically arranged, and a little bucket of tiny pencils. Cool! I look around for a colouring book only to realise that the pencils are in fact fries! Pencils would have been more tasty. I drown my sorrows in the glass of luke warm flat cokey-stuff with a sort of bland flavourlessness that is vaguely reminiscent of the âreal thingâ.But, hey, Circolo Pizzeria is a vibrant funky, independent artisan local business which we all need to support, so I could almost forgive the dessicated food. Almost, but my stomach is less forgiving. Off to the chemist for a funky indigestion remedy.

I booked this restaurant some months before as it was my 60th Birthday treat. I went with my wife and mother in law as we were visiting Portsmouth. We started with some lovely warm olive oil bread with oil and balsamic which was lovely and set the tastebuds going. I opted for a starter and had the avocado, tomato, mozarella and parma ham which was a lovely combination of ingredients. I had a spaghetti carbonara with a rugola salad. My wife and mother in law had penne with a creamy sauce of chicken and bacon. Absolutely lovely and approved by all. The restaurant was full and we went on a Tuesday evening at 7pm so booking is essential. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. the bill was also very reasonable even with a bottle of wine.
