While in Moline for an event, we wanted a place to get an early (5 p.m.) dinner on a Sunday and had a taste for Olive Garden's food. We were greeted by a group of probably six greeters standing behind the front desk, so we knew it wouldn't be a problem being seated immediately. I had read reviews ahead of time regarding being seated in the bar area. Sure enough, the hostess took us to a table in the bar area and asked if that was okay; I instead requested a seat in the dining room, because I could see plenty of empty tables. We were seated by the wall of windows, so I was happy. Our waitress was pleasant and not pushy at all, when we took time to browse the menu. Both of our entrees were very tasty and consistent with other Olive Garden's quality and presentation. We left as happy, satisfied customers.

It had been years since I went to Huckleberry's and on a whim I decided to order their Italian calzone in advance and eat it there. I'm glad I did. The lady who took my order was quite friendly and was on the ball. She brought my calzone out and I noticed a slightly different looking crust. It was a bit flaky, in a good way. Had a great crunch and chew to it. The Italian Sausage and Ham were excellent. It looks like they used sliced Italian sausage instead of the typical crumbly sausage which is a great idea. The calzone may seem a little expensive, but it is worth it. They pack it full of great ingredients. I recommend getting the small. It was more than plenty for me. Their pizza sauce is a little sweet, a little tangy and has some spice. Nice compliment to the calzone. The cheese blend was creamy. It just oozed with cheese. I'd rank this as the second best calzone in the QC.

where to start? Arrived a few minutes early for our reservation, were seated just inside the door, it seemed. Service arrived later -- much later. Calamari appetizer was good, property cooked to my way of thinking. Then things went south. After some time, the server arrived; we ordered wine. it was presented later. We ordered dinner; salads arrived, mine had the wrong dressing. Server disappeared. Finally asked someone on the floor to find her. She returned. I pointed out that I asked for blue cheese dressing, not the house. Ok. She said, leaving the salad at the table. Steaks arrived next. My companion said, no, I don't want the entree with my salad in front of me. My "other" salad arrived. Server asked if we wanted our steaks returned to the kitchen. Yes, thank you. At some time after we finished our salads (punishment perhaps?) our steaks returned, I've never seen a skinnier ribeye -- or had one so salty and overcooked. AT this point, our goal was to eat and leave. After paying the tab, my companion asked a nearby person to talk with us. "Are you the manager?" he inquired. "For today, yes" she replied. My companion related our adventure She said she could not adjust the tab since it had been run, but offered us her sympathy and a glass of wine. we accepted both. Suffice to say I've been here before and I loved the food and service. But I guess all good things must end. I will be back in Moline, but not at Johnny's.Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am disappointed to hear about your recent experience. I noticed you have dined with us before and this is not typical but did happen and I do sincerely apologize. I have shared your review with management and the culinary team to use as training/learning opportunities. I appreciate you letting us know so we have the opportunity to make improvements where needed. I do hope you will be willing to give us another try. I have an affinity for family owned and operated restaurants and I don't think it gets more family than this place. I love the assembly line preparation of pizza that includes generations of family members. My favorite dough is the double dough. It is a little heavier than hand tossed, but isn't deep dish either. Right in the middle which is a great spot to be. Their sauce tastes fresh and well seasoned. Their cheese blend is a perfect compliment to the toppings and sauce. Their Italian sausage is the best I've ever had. My favorite combo is pepperoni, Italian sausage and jalapeños to add some kick. I have only one complaint and I am not sure why it happens because it doesn't seem to happen to others or maybe they know something I don't. We always call ahead and arrive a little later than they say and still have to wait for quite awhile. I sit there and watch people walk in and grab their pies and walk out. Not sure why. With that said, the pizza is so good I don't care! I'm not sure I can say it is the best I've ever had, but it is pretty darn close.
The calzones are my favorite - you can choose any three ingredients for your calzone. I've also had the pizza and it's ok. I would rather go down the street to Pagalo's for pizza and eat the calzones here.Service is ok. Sometimes slow when they are very busy since there are usually 2 people waiting on the tables and there are lots of carry outs that the same 2 people handle. They offer a few other things - salads and I think a few sandwiches and spaghetti. I have not tried them. There is an ice cream shop attached - never tried it. They are only open at night - no lunch service.

Family chicago style pizza joint
This small family run place does an excellent job. Three of us shared a Cesar salad without the chicken and a large thin crust pizza with sausage, tomatoes and giardenira. The salad was crisp and tasty served with plenty of an excellent dressing (in a package) on the side. The pizza was packed with toppings and delicious. The only thing I would change were the peppers. We thought they would be milder due to the type they were. We like hot peppers a lot but in this case they overwhelmed the other flavors so we picked many if them off. Still, a great pizza.

Best Calzones in the Quad Cities. We have tried calzones at numerous other restaurants. No one else can make a delicious calzone like Pizza and Subs. The ingredients are fresh. The sauce has a special taste. They are cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The decor is unique pictures of Italy. Anytime you want a calzone, you must go here for dine-in or carry-out.

We stopped in and got a nice surprise! Being small town Milan, we weren't expecting a lot. However, the Hushpuppies were wonderful and unique, the Caesar's Salad was great, the pizza was fresh, with a crispy crust, and the ham sandwich was on a fabulous marbled rye with plenty of Boetje's mustard! Lunch specials are until 3:00, and priced very reasonably. The root beer came in a frosted mug.We were full, so couldn't think of eating gelato. However, with the friendly service and wonderful food, we will return!!
